Suggestions for a low powered, large objective rifle scope?

The rifle I have used to kill the majority of deer since I returned to Maryland from Germany in 1990 has a 6X42 Schmidt & Bender mounted. It has a heavy post-type reticle needed for the early morning late evening hunting I di in Germany. Roe deer season started on 1 June. I was in the stand by 0430 until 0700. Evening hunts started around 1700 and went until 2200 hrs. I bought it from the Rod and Gun Club for about $270.
