    My 320 has a 4.7 threaded barrel in a 3.9 slide.
I want to get a full length slide to use and it requires a 4.7 barrel.
Of course it won't fit with the thread protector, and I would prefer not have to spend money on a regular, non threaded 4.7 barrel.

So, would the .8 worth of threads be ok "inside" the end of the new slide?

I’ve found most tilting barrels pistols have a bit of “rub” on the top of the barrel when the slide comes back during recoil.

If the 320 does this, I’d be concerned about rubbing on the threads like a super coarse file and damaging them (and potentially the slide…)

Yeah. This is what I was thinking and really have no idea. Guess I could check for some wear on my new 3.9 standard barrel with that slide.
