      M1 Garand Stoppage

Occasionally my Garand stops with the slide locked open, the clip still in the receiver and the 8th round just laying there. A little tap on the operating rod and the slide moves forward and chambers the last round. When fired the case is ejected, the clip pings out and the slide locks open as...

1911 Problem after converting Series 80 to Series 70

Well. Tore the pistol down for the third time and reassembled it being extremely careful. It is now working well. Will range test it soon. All I can imagine is that I got the sear spring in improperly. Think I may have had the center spring tab under the sear instead of on top???

1911 Problem after converting Series 80 to Series 70

After removing the Series 80 parts and putting in the Series 70 shim I started having the following problem. With the magazine installed, when thumb cocking the hammer it won't catch. Rack the slide and the hammer locks back but won't fire unless I drop the magazine. It appears the grip...

      IWB Holster

Wow. Thought this would get a lot of replies. I appreciate all the feed back. I may take a step back, have a good laugh and just accept the fact that I'll be buying a number of holsters until I find the one I like. LMAO

      IWB Holster

Here's one where I'm sure (nearly) everyone will have a different opinion. Been carrying for a few months with a kydex IWB holster. I'm looking for something more comfortable. So far I've narrowed it down to two hybrid holsters. Alien Gear Shape Shifter 4.0 $64.88 with a free mag pouch...

      Application Progress Tracking Thread

My application is now with NICS as of 08/20/2022. What can I expect? Will I be called or be required for a face-to-face interview? Will my three references be getting calls soon? What have applicants been experiencing? Just curious.

      Is a 22LR or 25ACP Better for SELF-DEFENCE?

Belly Gun The only pistols I've ever fired using the .25acp were junk. The cartridge may be reliable but the pistols that fire them aren't. Are there any quality .25acp pistols?

      MAS 1936

I am working on a, like new, post war MAS 1936. Took it out to my range (Delta Peachbottom) and tried sighting it in at 100 yards. It shot about 9 inches high. The rear sight I have is marked "N". I was told, before I start messing around with the sights, I should shoot it at 200 meters...

Convert Series 80 Gold Cup to Series 70

Thanks for all in input. All I can say is the trigger pull seems a lot "crisper" since the conversion. I am pleased with the outcome.

Convert Series 80 Gold Cup to Series 70

Just finished removing the firing pin block system from my Series 80 Colt Gold Cup. I filled the resulting gap with a conversion shim that is available from TJ's Custom Gunworks. It dramatically improved the trigger. Only question I have is, did I make my pistol "unsafe". I can't believe...
