What did you do at your reloading bench today?

Setup the casting pot and poured about 150 .310/225gr RNs for the 300BO to be coated and loaded after they rest a bit.

      Volquartsen Black Mamba?

Very nice!! :party29: That is one of the reasons, like the OP, that I chose to just bite the bullet and go Volq, rather than buy a MKIV and trick it out... I'll still mess with it a bit, already installed the lower power spring, modified their grip and holster so I can actually holster it (had...

      Volquartsen Black Mamba?

Yes. Volquartsen makes the DLC coated bolts for Rugers and the Smith 15-22. They just ran a competition using 4 suppressed 22's, all running dry with several thousand rounds over a weekend with zero ftf (CCI std vel ammo). The bolt coating is slick enough to run a rimfire pistol dry, which...

      Volquartsen Black Mamba?

I'd imagine any dealer can get you one. Reach out to one or two of the MDS supporters and see what they say. I ordered mine directly from Volquartsen and it had a roundabout journey (long story, ffl moved shipping address was wrong), but Scott Volquartsen himself helped get things right. Great...

      Volquartsen Black Mamba?

You won't be dissapointed! I have no issue with the 6" length and using a dedicated 22 can. Mine is a form 1 (similar to an old Gemtech Alpine), but it is 1"od, about 6"oal, direct thread and honestly, you barely know it's on there except for the lengthened upper lol. It weighs next to nothing...

      Volquartsen Black Mamba?

I just bought a 6" and shoot it every time I head to camp. It is a blast to shoot, accurate and I shoot it suppressed. It is my favorite handgun!

What did you do at your reloading bench today?

I agree, since I don't turn my necks and I do despise removing crimps unless I use the swager (it's not as painful.. lol) Organizing a bit and starting some cleanup as I have been shooting mostly 22 lately, no reloading needed. My stock is pretty good for now til I get the wsm out the range...

Volquartsen Releases Competition Bolt For The M&P 15-22

Nice, but kinda pricey... Their DLC coating is the bomb

      Silencer Shop vs Silencer Central

I used SC for my last can purchase and it went smoothly, except for the wait.... blame that on the system, not the company. I also paid by check with a trust account, so that added about a week or so to my wait, but when it takes close to a year, what's a week? LOL Have one more in the lineup...

      NFA Picture Thread

Not a new nfa item, actually an old form 1 on a new host.. love this pistol!

      Powder coating

That could well be... I don't have any 'fresh' powders, so mine are a bit aged. though pretty well sealed up for storage, but I agree with Rob, much over 40% and I try to avoid it. I may have done it successfully at slightly higher, but I'd say 45 is about tops for me with what I have on hand.

      Thoughts on Osprey?

Valid point and I have used a few different means to overcome that issue successfully in the past, so it doesn't really concern me too much to be honest. Fingers are burned, but not from cans, previous life.... ;) lol

      .22 scope selection

In my experience, CCI Quiet are hollywood quiet, but inconsistent of late and won't cycle a semi auto (710fps). Quiet semi-auto likely will cycle and are pretty dang accurate for me (835fps) and Suppressor are very accurate (970fps), though the loudest of the three when shooting suppressed. That...

      .22 scope selection

Yes, mostly squirrel, small game and currently I am shooting CCI Suppressor ammo. It is very accurate and still subsonic and does the job just fine on small critters.

      .22 scope selection

I have as well. I put a Crossfire II on one of my Savage 22's. It's a 4-12x50. Yes, overkill, but it is a hunting rifle and I want light gathering and need AO, this is adjustable to very close. 40mm too big? haa... lol

      Thoughts on Osprey?

Looking at reviews and specs, it does say 45-70, though as with many higher pressure cartridges, there may be some barrel length restrictions on that one.
