Slide Fire Solutions to Shut Down Production and Cease Operations

This will end up being challenged and a lower court will rule that the ban is A-OK. Then the chickenshit SCOTUS will uphold the lower court by deciding they are too cool for school and won't rule on it. So, that won't help. This opens up the door for all kinds of bans just by changing...

While this is definitely true, if you make a rule to avoid Classic at all costs when dealing with used firearms, you can usually count on the listed condition being pretty close.

Colt 1902 in Kong Skull Island

I totally understand. That stuff used to bother me but I've come to the realization that the vast majority of athletes, actors, directors, producers, writers, etc are all on the opposite end of the political spectrum as I am, and are major leftists. Now I just try to ignore that stuff and...

Colt 1902 in Kong Skull Island

Do you generally like "huge monster movies"? Because I thought it was great for what it was. There's only so much you can expect from a movie like that...it isn't a widely visited genre that usually ends up being Oscar material. Godzilla, Pacific Rim, Cloverfield...fun movies with big...

      CMP 1911s update

I wonder if there is also a ton of spare parts that have been stored along with the pistols all these years? Two background checks and no C&R...brilliant!

Help me with Enfield stock repair

Yeah, I was very happy to see not only solid draws, but the fact that they need slightly trimmed instead of built up. Definitely a plus. Besides the crack in front of the charging bridge, I'm really happy with this stock set. Of course, it should be solid for 120 bucks..... I do have a...

Help me with Enfield stock repair

I appreciate all the comments from everyone, every little bit of advice helps. I realized that the action isn't only hitting at the point behind the charger bridge as in the picture I posted, but there's clear imprints in the draws/recoil blocks so it is very tight back there as well. If the...

That billboard import mark makes me want to puke. Also, it breaks up that baked on finish and it'll just continue to flake away from that point....

what is the most usuable 19th century rifle to buy.

No, you should not shoot 7.5x55 in a 1889 Swiss. It will likely chamber and fire, but it is much higher pressure than the round it was designed for and is dangerous. The 1889 shot the GP90, which is 7.5x53.5 and was a paper patched bullet and a lower pressure cartridge. 36,970 psi for the...

Help me with Enfield stock repair

The lip of the stock that sits behind the charger bridge is definitely a little longer than on the original stock, but the main issue with the original is the fact that the draws were so rotten, the charger bridge was slamming back against that lip in the stock upon recoil. I just didn't know...

Ok I see what you're saying, thanks. The draws are definitely going to need adjusted slightly as well, but I am going to leave it alone until I do more reading so I don't get ahead of myself.

Help me with Enfield stock repair

Thanks for the input, I can use all I can get! I will definitely be diving deeper into my sources before I do any removal. Also, looks can be deceiving. I also noticed a bit ago that the draws were showing (very equal) signs of being pushed against just from me test fitting the forend, so...

what is the most usuable 19th century rifle to buy.

I like the Swiss 1889, great capacity and a really good shooter. It's huge though. I shoot cast loads out of mine, same loads I use in the 7.5x55 rifles, didn't have to change anything.

Help me with Enfield stock repair

I've been doing a lot of reading on there and also got Roger Wadham's book on Enfield accurizing, it's just totally overwhelming, fitting and bedding these is really complicated compared to anything else I've done. I don't understand what you mean by "Lower the fore stock a little to get it...

Help me with Enfield stock repair

Ok, so I have an issue. There's no way this stock is going on with the lip hitting the charger bridge. Is it normal to have to trim some wood away here when replacing a forend? This is exactly where my old stock broke because that charger bridge was nailing against it. Looking at pics online...

      Cool SMLE History Video

Back before I started there 10 years ago, you could bring stuff in from home and work on it in the machine shop. I've had them do a few small jobs for me that I couldn't do at home. I have a decent setup since I am able to dedicate a decent sized room to reloading and gunsmithing, but a drill...
