      I went to Piney Run Yesterday and only managed to catch a bunch of yellow perch and 1 nice rainbow trout. Really thought the bass bite would have been better. Water temp was 60deg. Bass should be active.

      I have a tricked out 10/22 and the CZ457 Varmint. The CZ has the 17HMR and 22LR barrels. I kept the 17HMR barrel on it. That thing is super fun to shoot and more accurate. It really doesn't matter which one you choose because you will eventually do both anyhow. And why not right.

      There are giant catfish in that area of the river. Very deep water and strong currents. I caught a 50 pounder there last spring.

      Loch Raven is one of my favorite spring spots. The wind is not your friend there. To hard controlling the boat and getting around.

      I am hoping to get back out soon. Thinking my next trip is going to be the Potomac River out of Fort Washington. That way if the bass aren't biting we can probably catch some big catfish or maybe a snakehead. Can't fish there on a windy day. That part of the main river is killer in the wind.

      yes it is a bit on the pricey side. But it will last for years. Never tried surf fishing but for bay stripers I use the 30# and works fine.

      Receiver for a 10/22 build

      Well I should have mentioned what my intended purpose is for the gun. My bad. I am not looking for a competition bench gun. I have a CZ 457 bolt gun for that. And I have a 10/22 that I built already but it doesn't have an upgraded barrel just the original Ruger tapered barred non-threaded...
