I bought one for my pre-war PPK as I too was concerned about the fragility of the Bakelite grips. The cloned casting is pretty good, but it does not include the metal bushing that the screw is supposed to go into.....the screw...
I grew up eating "Mikes Subs"...back when it was just one store and well before it became "Jersey Mikes" and started doing the franchise thing.. Went to high school with the owner of the franchise....doesn't get me anything other than bragging rights. :)

Ahhhh...did not know that going 0.001" oversized for CB was typical usage. (I've only done jacketed bullet reloading to date)
The Lyman book is one that I don't have yet....it's on my list.

I've been looking at the IMR-3031 and -4198 but as of yet hadn't made any real decision. To date I've only used Unique for my 9mm and .38spl loads and I'm not seeing a lot on using that powder. It's looking like the 3031 may be the ticket. :)
So given the polygonal(?) rifling used I had...
I recently picked up a Pedersoli 1874 Sharps as well. Haven't had an opportunity to get it to the range yet, but I am beginning the research into (re)loading smokeless powder as well. I'm not currently interested in casting my own bullets, but would be interested in what you might be finding...
