I'm looking for a 9mm suppressor for my pistols that weighs about 5 to 7 ounces. I am not interested in sealed cans unless they are made of Ti or SS as I practice with lead and powder coated bullets.

Thanks for the info. I will look it up.MOD9 Handgun Silencer or Pistol Suppressor by Chaos Gear Supply
Durability, strength and easy to remove baffles describe our MOD9 handgun silencer as it is perfectly designed to turn explosive noise to a whisper.cgsgroup.com
As far as I know this is one of the lightest 9mm suppressors on the market. I have the full size and it's my dedicated pistol suppressor. It balances great with pistols. It's a quality suppressor that sounds great. It is serviceable. I can't speak for short model, but it falls in your weight requirements.

Ed,Just got the more compact MOD-9SK this afternoon. No chance to try it out yet, but I don't expect it to be 'movie quiet' due to how small it is.

For most suppressors, the piston/spring is needed on short recoil applications. The beauty of the F4 is that it is 4.5 oz which is light enough to not require the piston/spring for operation. That makes it quite a bit lighter and doesn't knock out the balance of the smaller 9mm pistols. The CGS was in stock (!) and on sale ($535), and all I need this type device for is to reduce ear damage if I happen to fire it w/o ear pro.
I thought the piston was needed for (tilt-barrel) semi-auto handguns to allow cycling, but I could be mistaken.
The CGS has an optional bushing that replaces the piston spring for use with fixed barrel firearms like a PCC, making it a rigid setup.
CAT Mobster is the quietest, followed closely by the PTR Vent2. The Mob is currently in stock and made of titanium. Might be a few more oz, but not many more:I'm looking for a 9mm suppressor for my pistols that weighs about 5 to 7 ounces. It is a cool design, but has MAJOR drawbacks. It's designed as a direct thread PCC can, handled one, was surprised they didn't have a modular mount. It isn't so much that it doesn't need a booster, it can't run one. It's light enough that some pistols can still run without a booster, but many won't, at least reliably. There is also no way to mount a 3 lug, which all my PCCs use. Can't even change thread pitch, and basically need to torque it on, so not something that is great for multiple hosts. Part of the reason the performance is so good is that there isn't really a blast chamber, the baffles start just ahead of the mount, so it sounds good, but has really high backpressure, OK for delayed blowback or 300BO, not great for blowback. For most suppressors, the piston/spring is needed on short recoil applications. I have seen it work on the P365, which I plan to use it on, and it runs like a clock. Granted it is not as quiet as putting a larger can on it but it does still change the report. (as much as I can tell from a recording)
I couldn't find a DB rating for that can. Not on SS and not on CGS's web site. That tells me that it isn't good enough to be worth mentioning.Just got the more compact MOD-9SK this afternoon. No chance to try it out yet, but I don't expect it to be 'movie quiet' due to how small it is.

Pewscience has the full size, but seems the K is roughly comparable to the Omega 9K with most testing I can find, low to mid 130s at the muzzle and ear with 147gr subsI couldn't find a DB rating for that can. It is a cute little bugger though.
That doesn't sound too bad. Thanks.Pewscience has the full size, but seems the K is roughly comparable to the Omega 9K with most testing I can find, low to mid 130s at the muzzle and ear with 147gr subs
