Dear MDS Industry Partners,
My apologies for posting this in the Industry Partners forum as well as in the MD 2A Issues forum, but I want to make sure that our industry partners see this post.
First, thanks to all of you for your support of the 2nd Amendment, and for your engagement in this year's legislative process, especially the folks that testified and/or voted unfavorably against SB-1 and HB 824 over the last couple of weeks.
Thank you for continuing to make sure your customers and trainees know that these bills are designed specifically to quash the right to self-defense outside the home. If these bills make it out of committee it will be a disaster for everyone, especially those that are just now able to exercise the right to self-defense without discrimination. If these bills are made law none of us will be able to carry a firearm for self-defense, and many of us won't be able to afford it even if we could.
Please make sure to tell your customers and trainees that NOW is the time we all need to engage to stop SB-1 and HB-824. It's up to everyone to contact the members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee & the House Judiciary Committee to tell them to stop these bills in committee ASAP and don't let them proceed to a floor vote.
We can do this. We now have many more HQL and wear & carry permit holders than ever before. It is critically important that legislators learn that lawful firearm owners and permit holders are an organized and substantially large voting block of all races, creeds and political affiliations. There are about a million law-abiding Marylanders that will want to obtain W&C permits. It's important that every one of the 140,000 permit holders and applicants, the many thousands in the pipeline, and their respective family members act now to stop these bills.
Please ask your customers and trainees to VISIT the below-listed Senators & Delegates and tell them to vote unfavorably on these and other infringing bills. And if they can't visit in person, please ask them to EMAIL, CALL OR SNAIL MAIL their voiced opposition to these legislators. The legislators can be contacted toll-free if people can't visit or email them. These legislators need to hear from the public ASAP that they should vote unfavorably on these discriminatory and illegal bills.
Please feel free to share the below information with your customers and trainees.
Some of the committee members are starting to understand that these bills are discriminatory and unconstitutional. Your customers and trainees can help them see the light and vote no.
Thank you again for all of your support. None of us could exercise our rights without your resolute support, enduring advocacy and friendship. Thanks again,
some guy
