Sent to the entire G.A. this morning:

After following the testimony and vote during the Senate Judicial Proceedings committee last night, I find it simply astounding that the lack of knowledge of current law, and subject matter displayed by the members present in the hearing. I, along with thousands of other Maryland citizens, kept up with what appeared to be a pre-ordained outcome, regardless of the fact that this bill will do nothing to stop violence. It will only place cumbersome regulations, and expense on those not inclined to break laws in the first place. There were over 2,200 posts about this testimony on one internet forum alone that I follow last night alone. We are watching. The fact that Senator Frosh was essentially telling another Senator (Muse) how to vote on amendments was truly telling of the result to be had. Not to mention that in my opinion , this was a violation of the oath taken by each member to uphold their office. We as a state, elect all of you to uphold the Constitution of MD, and the United States! Not to trample on our rights. The vote last night has only furthered the resolve of those of us in this state to fight to stop this unconstitutional bill! Did the legislators not take notice the size of the crowd on February 6? We were everyday working class TAXPAYING citizens in attendance that also forced the Senate building to be closed, not bussed in professional protesters. We will be there again on March 1, and March 5. I urge you to vote S.B. 281/H.B. 294 down. At the very minimum, you should at least educate yourselves on current law, and the subject matter that will come before you, so you do not sound as unprofessional and clueless as the some of the Senators did last night!

He's gone in 2014. He promised over 100 of us at his meeting that he wouldn't pass this unless the licensing was ditched. His amendment failed so he rolled over like a little baby. I will personally work/donate to see him get voted out.

I'm at a loss at what can be done at least from my "district's" perspective. The senators and house members are rabidly antis in my district (dist 15). The other senators and house members don't care for non-constituents so we (those in dist 15) basically don't have a voice.

The Judiciary hearing last night was appalling. There wasn't any substantive effort to understand the actual implications of the bill.....the anti's just seemed to be in lock step with Frosh.

Muse seemed to toe the line with health related amendments but in the end he would followed Frosh to the tee. I was astounded at Frosh's mythical power over the antis. Muse in particular seemed to be the biggest puppet with vote "passes" and subsequent "NO" votes.

This hearing seemed rigged..did it not? It was a disgusting state of affairs and I can't believe the system is as broke as it is. Sorry to sound so apocalyptic but we are doomed if these folks remain in "power".

    Are you surprised...

    These people don't care..

All they care about is their seat/position/title/job/power..

Not one of them that won't roll over so fast if it means saving their own ass..

Goverment is so big and so corupt right now, it really doesn't matter who's in power..

Even if the Democrats were outed tomorrow, this goverment is way beyond fixing....

The People need to take this country back, and SOON..!!

To all of the gloom and doom proponents, I say this:

This is not the end. Quite to the contrary, this is just the beginning. To quote Patrick, "This is day one."

We knew that our chances of a successful SJC outcome were slim. We poured lots of energy into it because if we had pulled it off, it would have been a coup of the highest magnitude. There is still the Senate floor vote, and both House committee and House floor votes.

    We're not done yet.

    We're just getting started.

And we need to keep the pressure up. Let Annapolis know that we're not so easily cowed.

I was at that meeting. Brochin clearly said he would not vote for this bill if it contained a licensing provision. In fact, he was adamant about that.

His word means nothing, and he is now exposed as just another lying politician. I do not live in his district, but I will contribute money to a pro-2A candidate who challenges him.

...Anyone who thinks Maryland doesn't want to eventually take ALL guns is as ignorant or moronic as ANY jew in favor of gun control.

I will continue to fight, but I believe it's just a matter of time before I, along with all law abiding gun owner in Maryland will be a legislated criminal. :sad20:

That's exactly where they want to push this, to make it illegal to own any firearm.

Of course it is... that's the only agenda.

It's not about Gun Control, it's about "Control"...

They're attack firearms that make up less than 3% of firearms in the US, it doesn't make sense.

Agreed, ANYONE that doesn't believe this is a DUMBASS...!

Next will be your handguns, then your shotguns, then any/all other hunter style firearms....

This is not the end of it guys, nations worldwide have gone the same way....

Y'all just the next on the list...

It will soon be time to make a choice: comply and be a slave because we know this is just the next step towards confiscation or we can put into effect the peaceful, non-violent practice of mass civil disobedience.

To all those who think the "2 feature test" makes this AWB ban the same as the 94 one, you are wrong. The banned list still exists, and can be updated at MSP's leisure. The 2 feature test only applies to 'COPYCAT' firearms. The AR-15, AK, and virtually every other modern rifle worth having is still banned according to the list of banned"assault WEAPONS.'

I hope some manufacturers come out with an AK-48, AR-16 and the like ;)

Where is the NRA? I have friends that bought lifetime memberships for not only themselves, but for their wives and kids, just to make sure the NRA gets some money. What is needed is a good lobbying effort by someone with a solid track record, the NRA can provide that.

The NRA has long written off Maryland as a lost cause.
