What is it about hunting that brings out the litter bug in people? I was at mckee beshers and saw two different dove hunters leave their shotgun shells, empty shell boxes, empty water bottles and cig butts.
I hate going places and seeing trash everywhere. To the young dove hunter that helped me clean up, thanks. To the guys that left the trash, f u.

I live up in the cornfield country and I am a hunter. What I can't understand is what makes someone think it's ok to butcher a deer someplace, I assume at their home, but then drive back to the rural areas and throw the butchered carcass on the side of the road... AND leave it in a black Hefty bag. WTF, they're all over the place. I used to like to think that "outdoorsmen" would have a greater respect for the outdoors. I realize it's not everyone, but it is disheartening. I've lived in different parts of the country and NEVER seen carcass litter like this before. No sheet - The worst so far was 22 bagged carcasses on Gunpowder Rd. in 2011, mostly in the watershed area.

I know it doesn't matter to these folks, but isn't dumping carcasses against the law?

Don't they educate/warn/inform people about what to do with their waste and the consequences of littering when hunting licenses are issued?

It drives me bat-sht crazy. You hump all that crap all day and once it's empty, you throw on the ground and leave it. It's all empty! it doesn't weigh dick! Hump it the hell out with you! When I hunt I only leave two things behind. Foot prints and blood trails/gut piles.

I was out bowhunting this morning on private land. As a courtesy, I always pick up trash that I find out there. If I was LE I would write those $1,000 litter tickets every day.

I was hunting a few stands in a friends woods and found trash everywhere. The guy that hunted the year before left a piss jug full in each stand, food wrappers and bottles everywhere. Not to mention a ton of cigarette butts all over the place.

I have this same gd issue with people on my fav hiking trail who pick up their dogs sh&t in a bag, and then leave the bagged poo right on the side of the trail. Christ, if you're gonna do that, then just leave the poo.... at least the poo will biodegrade. :banghead:

I can't stand pigs. There are people on my street that still throw garbage out their windows - soda cups, dunkin donut bags, mcdonald's bags, etc. I'd like to catch them on video and post pics in the paper,

This also incenses me. It makes me wish I could just ram into the back of their puny car at the next red light. :mad54:

Basically "people" as a whole are trashy and I can't stand them.

This is the one that sends me over the edge. I'm sure deer can smell cigarettes, it's not natural for them to be in the woods. How do these guys expect to attract deer into their area if they are puffing one cigarette after another. Then to leave the butts laying on the ground for the deer to mark this as a no fly zone. Imagine setting up a couple of trees from this ashtray. You'll never have a deer walk down your path.

Back when I smoked, I would smoke my last smoke of the day right before my morning camo shower. After that, no smoking till I got back to my truck that PM.

And that's the way it should be. How do people expect to see any deer when you have cigarette smoke all around you and in your clothes too. I'll never get it.

Well I let this lady who smokes hunt with me a couple times. She also wanted to whisper and play with her phone. I never saw a deer when with her PERIOD. I did make her use e-cigs in the blind, but on the tall deck stand I let her smoke regular cigs.

As an aside she acts like she knows self defense rules, then starts talking about warning shots, then acts indignant when I tell her those are no-no's. There was the almost argument the one day I was trying to explain why she likely wouldn't get a MD carry lisc, and she thought it wasn't that hard since her estranged husband is crazy. Nor would she listen to the details about out of state carry- FL and UT lisc's, nor of proper belts and holsters. She also says "wrong" things like she called a Mini 14, an M-14 which confused the hell out of me until I figured out she meant Mini 14. Up next- she calls an AR15 an AR47. Ok, she isn't THAT bad. I think. But she knows of my aspergers, and a little research would tell her that when an "aspie" knows a topic, they know it REALLY well. Some people...lol

Let's hope she paid attention and the next person she speaks to about those subjects won't have to shake their head too. Hopefully she'll look closer at the subjects because you called her out, then she'll find the truth.

Yes they most certainly do! However some people are filthy and could simply care less.... that is until DNR issues a few of those $1000 tickets.
