I think we have beaten this horse to death. If the 2nd Amendment crowd did not vote for Ehrlich in his run for a 2nd term, then the 2nd Amendment crowd has no reason to complain about getting FSA2013 as it elected O'Malley in lieu of Ehrlich. BRILLIANT. If that was the case, the 2nd Amendment crowd played the game, not knowing that there was a side bet by O'Malley and the big winner was O'Malley, with both Ehrlich and the 2nd Amendment crowd as the big losers...
The 2A crowd has grown substantially since then, to be fair.
That was barely 2 years after the sunset of the AWB and there were a lot less shooters.

Ever heard the phrase, "Cut off your nose to spite your face." We showed that Ehrlich now didn't we, and then we bent right over and took it up the ................
Yep, the 2nd Amendment crowd showed Ehrlich real good in 2006:

Then, O'Malley said thank you for the support in 2013

Crazy thing is, the assault weapon ban had been proposed in 2007 and 2008, if memory serves me correctly, and then they stopped proposing it thereafter until 2013, when it was rammed through for the sake of ..................
O'Malley's run for POTUS under the guise of saving children and the elderly while elevating the poor by taking from the rich like Robin Hood.
I thank each and every one of you that voted Ehrlich out of office for taking all these killer assault weapons and killer mags off the streets of Maryland.
Have we learned a lesson yet? Do I really need to find the sarcasm button?
Do you actually believe there are enough voting members here to have flipped a state wide election?
Come on, we're talking a few thousand votes this time around and it was probably far less in play for Erlich's second term bid.
Do I think there are enough 2nd Amendment voters in Maryland to sway an election? Sure
IF, those members are voting solely on the 2nd Amendment and that is the ONLY issue involved. How many "2nd Amendment" voters would really vote for a liberal? Those voting entirely on the 2nd Amendment are going to vote for the conservative candidate, IF they are voting solely on the 2nd Amendment. So, I view those votes as already pro Hogan. Hogan's issue isn't with appeasing the single issue 2nd Amendment voters, but all the swing votes out there wherein the 2nd Amendment MIGHT be one of the issues for them, but not THE issue or even at the top of their list of issues.
Again, haven't we beaten this horse to death? Do you not get my sarcasm? Do you not understand that Hogan is the best 2nd Amendment candidate that was running this past election and he will be the best candidate in the next Governor's election. By doing nothing negative toward the 2nd Amendment during his term, he is pretty much assured of the 2nd Amendment vote, unless we are really, really, really, really that spiteful to show Hogan the door and then we deserve what we get.
Following his appearance on WCMB, I emailed the gov and as of this date and time haven't heard back.
Another one term politician.
What has bothered me during these discussions are the people quick to provide cover for a disappointment that hasn't even happened yet. I've been willing to wait but the preemptive-apologists are already out in force.
Of course I'm not going to vote against my own interest but for once in your life wouldn't you like to see a politician stand up for something besides their own re-election?
Naive? maybe so, but no less naive than believing the perfect storm of circumstance that led us here is going to repeat itself in four years.
Good luck playing the political shell game.
For us (wife and I) if nothing positive happens on the 2A front we won't be here next election . It won't be that 2A people will vote dem will just have less of the here

He said on day one he would order msp to change g&s
Its sourced multiple places on here
And from the person that sat in that meeting and wrote that post that people keep MIS-READING, the day one reference was for the cabinet, not policy changes.
Is that clear enough for everyone that has read that post?
Chill.
Well, if you get bored with this thread, you can pop over to the "Is what I did super illegal and can someone give me free legal advice on an internet message board thread."
This is such a strawman argument. Yes, we understand (or should understand) he has no ability to just rewrite the law at his whim. But there are two or three very annoying interpretation issues for us that he could fix by simply ordering the MSP to play nicer. No one's asking for a press release or a big speech - just a quiet change to G&S and applying the copycat criteria to NFA weapons.Love that some people seem ready to tar and feather him a month into a 48 month term. Our rights have been being erroded for decades, it is going to take years at BEST to fix that.

It absolutely calls his commitment to us and the 2A in question when he is apparently scared of moving on tiny minor issues for fear of some imagined political reprisal. "Just wait" has gotten us boiled alive in the pot in this state. I'm done waiting, and want to see some action.
