The Giraud power trimmer is like that, but even better. You just swap a cutting head and a cartridge holder and you're done. One-time setup for each, and you can re-use the cutting heads across calibers (ie, .308 cutting head works for both 300AAC and 7.62x51). I still keep my old 308 tri-way around just because it's sometimes more convenient, but I'll sell it eventually.

That looks like something I need.

I set up my new Giraud Tri-Way 5.56 trimmer and went to town. I’m about 1/3 of the way through trimming 1000 rounds of LC 5.56 brass. I’m glad to have the Giraud. It makes what used to be a horrible task into a semi-pleasant one. When I get done with these, I’ll go through my culls and turn them into .300 Blackout brass. I got a Giraud Tri-Way for .300 AAC too. It should make the final trim on them a lot more enjoyable.

Buy once, cry once. I have the Giraud too. Love it. For 223 only

You better have strong fingers when using a Giraud. I had one for 20 years and it does do a number on your fingers. I think .223 was the worst as it was the smallest case I trimmed. The 30-06 and .308 had more meat and were easier to hold.

I wear Mechanix gloves for this very reason when trimming.

Learned that I don't like Benchmark, it probably works fine, but it has an obvious smell and doesn't meter through my powder measure very well. Worked great in the vibratory trickler though.

Loaded up 10 brand new Starline 6.5 Grendel cases with it, Federal Small Rifle Match primers, and 100gr ELD-M bullets. Then I loaded up 10 brand new Starline 7.62x39 cases that have been sized to 6.5 with the same powder and bullet, but with Winchester Large Rifle primers. Everything got the minimum charge so next range trip I can compare how they shoot and so I can fireform the 7.62x39. I bought those cases because I couldn't find Grendel so I want to see how they do and if I don't like the outcome I'll just have to get a rifle in the caliber.

I've also decided that I need either a chargemaster or an intellidropper. I don't have a problem with a scale and powder measure if I'm doing a low number of things for a specific purpose, but large batches of 223 or other general plinking rounds takes too long for me with them.

300 AAC is even worse. :)

I mostly did new bench setup today, but did run about 50 6.5 Grendel cases through my Giraud. The new workflow of only moving prepped cases out to the main bench SHOULD relieve some of the clutter and maybe speed up the workflow.

Put an old bookshelf on the back of my table. Perfectly divided and heavy duty. Then started an inventory of my primers. Thought I'd lost 20k somewhere, finally found I had boxed them up just to get them out of the way. I know what I have bought, but didn't keep track of them as they were used. Next to inventory is bullets, same problem, know what I've bought, but not what I've used of each type. At least with ammo, I know pretty much what I've shot out of what I've bought.

Loaded some 8mm Mauser and then some 45 Colt test loads.
I purchased 36 or so 8mm mauser cases and they are like 20-30gr heavier than my other brass. Primed them and when putting powder in them noticed the cases were filled up more than I expected. That is when I weighed them. Brass seems thicker. Removed the powder and marked them for later. Just built 20 on PPU brass. Hate to have wasted 36 primers on them. Sometime later, I'll load 5 of them with less powder and check/chrono them out. Maybe I can use them with some lower velocity lead bullets I made a few years ago and did not touch after getting pulled bullets to use.

I also reorganized some of my ammo cabinet. The cabinet mostly filled with airsoft bbs...........

My lee collator and tubes showed up to use with my App press. Not on the press, but I put it together and dropped a case in. Then I dropped a few cases in. then I dropped a large handful. And another large handful. It is like MAGIC!

I am still grinning and giggling about it. It is going to speed up my processing on the App SOOO much. That was all 9mm. I see some guys saying they needed to modify it with some 1/2 PEX and others that it is only the occasional upside down 9mm (or smaller) case. I'll need to play with it. See if it is worth while getting a new collator and setting one up for 9mm and smaller (not sure if I'll run 32acp or 9x18 through the App, but I am running 9mm on it).
