Somewhere in the back of my safe I have a S&W Model 10 that was handed down to me from my grandad. It has a bulged barrel. According to my dad, gramps only fired twice before noticing a not so normal report. I have often thought about having it re-barreled, but figured the cost might be prohibitive. Also, not shure if the frame may of been stressed.

In 38, should be ok. Whoever does your rebarrel can check it out. A friend bought a military and police in same condition for a song and has since rebarreled. Shoots it for kicks.

I count 8 bullets, He had to reload, that or he had multiple projectiles loaded in each cartridge. (Anythings possible I guess...)

I call BS that this was something that accidentally happened - you'd have to be a special kind of idiot to run a full cylinder, then reload it and fire two more times. I can see two, maybe three, but at that point the shooter would have to know that something wasn't right.

It looks to me like a test set up to see what kind of stress the gun would handle, although the thought of ruining a perfectly good Model 27 makes me want to cringe.

Not something I'd EVER try, but something I am kind of curious about. If you got a squib, could you use a blank cartridge to clear the stuck squib? I'd think a revolver probably wouldn't because too much gas leakage. I'd think most bolt action or semi-autos would so long as the bullet wasn't lodged past any gas ports.

It was a school teacher whom they pinned to the ground kicking and screaming and then FORCED a gun into his / her hand!

(see the thread on “Armed Teachers;” sorry, I just couldn’t help myself! :evilgrin3
