My friend got his first AR and we built it a couple hours ago over lunch. Went well! Roll pins went in easy because I got those punches with the hollow end to start the roll pins. And I remembered electrical tape to protect the lower this time.
Issue we ran into was the safety detent pin would not fit. It was a show stopper. The rim was just too large to fit in the hole in the lower. Fortunately I had an "oops" kit with a pin that fit perfect. Interestingly, it was an Anderson "oops" kit.
So the question is, is this lower not Milspec or is the BCA lower parts kit not Milspec? I assume a Milspec lower using a Milspec parts kit the detent would fit. Or the other option is the detent was simply defective. Anyone seen this before?
Parts:
Bear Creek Arsenal Wylde HBAR 20" upper
Anderson lower
BCA lower parts kit
Hera CQR Gen 2 stock, grip and foregrip
Magpul Magazine
Vortex Red Dot
Monstrum Flip-up Iron Sights
