I tried some of the Italian-made Brass Maxx 9mm in my Beretta M9A1. (The 50 round boxes are made in Italy, the 100 round packs in plastic cans are made in Bosnia and Herzegovina) No problems at all, and I was also impressed with the accuracy. I will happily shoot it any time I can get my hands...
I use the PRO with the included QRP2 mount.
The co-witness I get is slightly lower than absolute but slightly higher than what I would call lower 1/3. (My sights are Magpul MBUS, for reference)
It's really hard to beat. Nothing "cheap" about it at all. IMO the best value out there
Standard MBUS should be fine for this application. DD M4 V5 uses a low profile gas block that is covered by the hand guard. The rail is part of the hand guard, the gas block itself is not railed.
I was very tempted to try that same optic on my AUG, but didn't do it because I was concerned about eye relief. Seems like I would have to scrunch way forward on the stock, as in with my face right about where the ejection port is. In the end, I wasn't up for dropping almost a grand on an ACOG...
