Back In The Wheel Gun Club!

Welcome Back Nice looking gun. I'm probably a wimp, but my experience, with an S&W620, has been that the original equipment Hogue rubber grips make shooting a box of .357 relatively painless. Your wood grips look like they would not be as comfortable.

      Mc Henery-Oakland area..........

Since I'm new-ish to MD (and left my carry permit in VA), I'm not an expert like most of you; however, the pricey Dutch's at Silvertree seems to have the best tasting crab cakes. Unlike UNO, which is a national chain, Dutch's other place is in Frederick, so I'm thinking they're true MD crab cakes.

Reasons to Live in Garrett County

We have really good public schools in Garrett County that are mostly financed by those rich tax and spend liberals down east, as well as superb winter road maintenance. If we join WVa, we lose all that.

Odd/strange sites in Hagerstown or Western Maryland

There are ruins at Kendall, west of Friendsville in Garrett County and it's a great walk on a nice day. http://www.localhikes.com/Hikes/Kendall_0000.asp

      Garrett County FFL?

Thanks all...I've got what I need. Interestingly the registry link provided by DadOSix produced 12 listings for Oakland, including Bill's Outdoor and Walmart...as well as others mentioned by responders. Appreciate the prompt and useful responses.

      Garrett County FFL?

The Forum search engine did not produce the info, so I hope this isn't asking a question that's already been beaten to death: Anyone know of a reliable FFL in Garrett County? If so could you provide contact info? Thanks

Dartmouth won't let stalking victim defend herself

A favorite bumper sticker comes to mind: Is a woman raped and strangled morally superior to a woman with a smoking gun and a dead rapist at her feet? We know the answer at Dartmouth.

CCW is nothing to worry about

They ought to look east across the lake. I apologize for not saving the article, but within the last year, The Detroit Free Press looked at the result of Michigan's transition to "shall issue." The fight over it had been predictable, the "pro" faction arguing armed citizens would reduce crime...

      CN Metals

They did work for us...good work, fair price.

      Fellow Hooligan friends......

Sorry you had the scare but glad you're quitting. I did so years ago after 13 years of smoking heavily. Aside from the cost savings, the freedom from worry about my next butt and having endurance, the main thing that has kept me from starting again is this: the first week wo/cigarettes is the...

      Choose carefully

Oupa: You're preaching to the choir on this site. The problem is that we folks in W.Md. are listened to by our reps in Annapolis, but they don't have the clout to stop the big government avalanche. It's even worse at the federal level, now that we've become part of the Montgomery County...

Roscoe Bartlett - The Congressman Who Went Off the Grid

The Irony The gerrymander that eliminated support for Bartlett and made us vote with Montgomery County has put us in the position of being taxed without representation. Ironic that it's DC that whines on its license plates about that. While the folks in DC don't have a voting congressman...

Poll: Will you get an HQL?

No to HQL No. I wonder if illegal immigrants will be exempted from the requirement.

      Maryland Governance and Violence

Interesting article listing the best and worst governed states. http://247wallst.com/special-report/2013/11/21/the-best-and-worst-run-states-in-america-a-survey-of-all-50-2/ It shows that Maryland is doing well as a state due almost entirely to the wealth of its citizens, by almost all other...

how much ammo do you have..

OK: I expect every MD Shooter to thank me. Rather than continuing to chase the stuff in the stores, I made a sizable buy of .22LR on the internet: the ammo price was not bad by current standards, but shipping cost an arm, a leg and part of my reproductive system. Given my success with other...
