I gave up on springers and went the PCP route. After a year, I have ZERO buyer's remorse on that decision. I sold a collection of Winchesters for the PCP and compressor and am so glad I did.
I had a scope on a springer that would shift to the right a quarter inch with every shot. Holding on center it would draw a horizontal line to the right the more I shot. That double-recoil-scope-destroying stuff is real!
Oh yeah definitely not sporting. I'm shooting off a sandbag which is about as far from 'sporting' as you can get since it removes the shooter as much as possible. If it were sporting I might injure one. I like being able to reliably choose where in their head I put the pellet so they aren't...
I got tired of walking all day and not seeing anything so now I cheat. I have an automatic cat feeder that drops peanuts in front of my archery target year-round :)
+1 on Plumber's Putty

I put little 2x2s in front to hold it up and to give me a place to put the army men. Serves 'em right--shoulda joined the Coast Guard!
I'll...
That sucks, man. Sorry to hear it's giving you fits.
FWIW, I had a Benjamin NP Elite in .22 and hated it. I tried sand bags and artillery holds and the best I could do was a 4" group at 30 yards. The more powerful the gun is, the more the dual recoil seems to affect the shot. If I get a...
What speed loader are you using for this? The worst thing about these fast shooters is reloading them!
I put some 6" plates on my back fence for similar speed shooting:

Thanks! It was sooooo much work but I wanted to make this as safe as I possibly could.
I don't drive so I welded a big platform on the back of my bike. It handled 120# of mulch and the 2x12x12s just fine. I think it hauls lumber better than my buddy's Ranchero would :D
I think I'm finally happy with the archery target. I'll get the lighting finalized after I get a roof on the firewood storage but I can see clearly to shoot at midnight.
I added a bunch of rubber-covered hooks to hang all the bows up. When 4 people show up to shoot we run out of table space...
I love the DPMS. I got tired of the co2 dropoff and ran a paintball tank to a dummy cartridge. With the 300 round mag on it shoots forever. I couldn't tell you how many thousands of rounds I've put through this thing over the last year.
One thing I don't like about it is the weight of...
Nice! I set up a range earlier this year and had that same problem. The new 300 round mag for the DPMS works really well. I also converted it to HPA so there's no drop off. A 13ci bottle is good for ~1200 shots. New problem: the trigger is so heavy(~10#) that I now pull it with my middle...
You can buy round steel plates for 4 or 5 dollars on ebay and it's easy to drill a few holes in them. I've found that 1/8" makes a nice TING! with my .22 but 1/16" dents and doesn't sound like much. I've got a frame that I've hung targets from 1" to 6" to suit shooting from a bag to standing.
