Don was truly a great guy who will be missed by so many. I know I wish I could go back ten years and hang out with him a bit more. He helped get me into shooting, 2A activism, Libertarianism, and of course pointed me to this great forum he founded.
RIP Don.
Iv'e done extensive accuracy and speed testing with 124's, and shot thousands of them in competition for years, mostly out of M&P's and CZ-75's. After trying out some 147's, and immediately recognizing that felt recoil was far less, I went ahead and did some accuracy and speed testing. Albeit...
I'm sure you have already, but check out Speed Shooter Specialties (SSS) http://speedshooterspecialties.com/
I'm also building an M&P Open gun to play around with. I bought the standard length slide CORE, and have outfitted it with a Trijicon RMR, and APEX FSS. I'm going to buy a threaded...
Curious! I just went to a new patient inchop at the same office last week, and saw Dr Hunt. I wasn't asked these questions, nor was my wife. I even asked for my lead levels to be checked, because of all the shooting and reloading that I do. I want to have some sort of baseline to see if my...
Would be much faster just to do a proper mag change. It only takes about 1.5 sec for a semi-proficient shooter, less than 1sec for those who really practice. The stuck-together mag would be slower, awkward, and just plain stupid.
The right way:
1) Hit mag release with strong hand while...
I'm going to assume that you want to shoot Production USPSA or SSP IDPA. With that being said, neither gun will be ideal. You will want to shoot 9mm to be competitive, as 40 will slow you down. Mag capacity doesn't matter, as you will be limited to 10+1 anyway. Ideally, you would have a long...
That's nothin! I have 7:
9 standard (house ready gun)
9 5 inch pro (IDPA SSP, USPSA production)
9 shield with 40 conversion (summer carry)
45 standard (IDPA CDP)
22 (cheap fun, new shooter trainer)
40 compact with 9 conversion (winter carry)
40 core with 9 conversion (soon to be USPSA open gun)...
This tool is awesome! I played hell twice with a couple of my M&P's before buying one. With a punch, you will cuss, it will take forever, and you will destroy the factory sights getting them off. With the tool, five minutes, angels singing, original sights unmarred.
I would let you borrow...
