For me of the three sight pictures in alucards diagram, only #2 works. #1 will change your POI depending on the diameter of the dot or the distance you are shooting from. I guess, if plus or minus 2-3 inches is good for you, it's ok. #3 is no good because the front sight covers the target...
I see several references to a 2A rally in Annapolis on 2/4 but can't find any details. Saw the thread about the bus from Howard Co in events but nothing about the rally itself in 'Events' or 'Md 2A Issues'. I plan to be there but where and when?
I have had an Eotech 512 for several years and really like it. We had a cheap 1-4 scope on my wife's AR and recently upgraded to a Leupold MkAR 1-4. There is no question in my mind that the fine crosshairs are more accurate at distance. What I don't like is the need to have your eye perfectly...
I have seen this and watched a couple of videos. I like the technology but haven't figured out one part of it. How accurate do you have to be when 'tagging' the target? If you have to be as accurate w/ your 'tag' as you want your shot to be, then why not just take the shot? Or does it have some...
If you go to the rifle range at MSAR be aware it's loud. It's a nice new facility but there was no attempt at any kind of sound deadening. When shooting our 5.56 we put foam in the ears and muffs over that. It's a 50 yrs (IIRC) range that is maybe 30 feet wide so you get to hear the initial shot...
I was surprised when I looked this up a few months ago that the average 308 trajectory is very near a 5.56 trajectory at least out to about 300 yds. I was expecting it to be flatter due to the extra power but I guess the extra bullet weight offsets that.
I have a different model DPMS but I think w/ the same handguard. It looks to me like the barrel nut is machined as part of the tube. Can anyone confirm?
We have two RRA AR15s and are very happy w/ them. But I went DPMS 'LR308T' for a .308. The main reason was DPMS uses much more common magazines. I am happy w/ it with two exceptions. First is it was shipped dry as a bone. I thought I had lubed it completely before the first range trip but then...
I am glad they have rifle lanes now in the new building. But I sure wish they had done something about sound. We usually put foam in our ears and then the muffs over that. The pistol range is fine.
I have no personal knowledge of this sport at all but one thing I have noticed is that most 3gun shooters have their left arm fully extended out on a long free float tube. this could translate into how long you want your adjustable stock to be. And that will help determine where to mount your scope.
I agree w/ Juan. As we all know the law is poorly written and very hard to interpret. I think RRA is waiting for better understanding and doing what it can. From their point of view, let's say they did something and MD came after them. I don't think spending $25000 in legal fees would be hard to...
As much as we need to do something about mental health and guns, we need to be very careful what we wish for. A couple of questions:
What defines an unhealthy mental state? Unfortunately it can't be defined by a number from a blood test being too high.
Once the definitions are in place who...
