So, has anyone fired their rifle after doing this? I guess I just don't quite trust electricity and firearms together. Is there any possibility of this sort of process introducing voids in the material?
So I have a Mosin 91/30, and I have a Mosin front sight, but I do not have them attached. Is there a good way to attach them without using a specialized tool? I have a range date on Monday and I'd like to try her out.
Yeah, I guess I don't know as much about this internet gizmo as I thought.
I used only a fraction of an ounce for one gun. It really goes a long way. I'm considering stripping the polyurethane off the M44 and redoing it as well.
Vette was good enough to pass along some of his shellac flakes and I tried my hand at the authentic look for my 91/30.
I was pretty pleased with how it came out. Now I just need to get a front sight on there.
Is that a repair screw in the stock?
It's gorgeous, btw. Nice job with the shellac. I'll be trying my hand with the Vette97 garnet flake pretty soon myself.
Sorry to drag this off-topic a bit more but does NRA membership fulfill the 'club membership" requirement? The NRA has a deal going at the moment so I thought now might be a good time to take the plunge.
I have a C&R permit but am not affiliated with any shooting clubs or the NRA or anything else along those lines. Am I still qualified to order a Garand from CMP?
It wasn't clear to me from reading on the CMP site.

Here's an M38 for $140.

I can't believe these guns are in short supply. I bought a 5 pack of M44's from Centerfire last year for $40 a gun.

This is obviously too late, but the CZ-82 is only $179 from SOG. Their website is not updated to include the deals in their catalog. I just got mine from them on Tuesday. It was in fine shape for anyone still looking to get one.
Thanks for those quick and positive responses. That was exactly what I was hoping but it seemed a little too easy for this state.
Time to call S.O.G.
