      Mini 30 or AK?

So that's why they have wooden handguards! Built in field fire starter. Those Russkies were brilliant!

Wanted to Borrow: AK Sight Tool

Dear Fellow MD Shooters, Does anyone in the Ft. Meade area have an AK sight tool (preferably one for elevation and windage, but elevation only would work) that I might be able to borrow for a day or two? In the interest of helping out my fellow enthusiasts, I have a pair of AR barrel...

      CMP M1 arrived

If I am not mistaken, having at least one foot in the picture is mandatory here. It is a proud and honorable tradition of the Maryland Shooters. I believe extra points awarded for socks with holes or unusual footwear. Congrats on the rifle!

      Anyone recommend 5.45x39?

AK-74s starting at $370.00 and 5.45 "tuna cans" going for $135.00? What's not to love?

      MSAR vs. Sig?

Sorry Grammar Nazi! Should read: "...charging handle needs to be drawn to the rear and rocked up into the detente to facilitate a fast mag change." :)

      MSAR vs. Sig?

I have an FN FS-2000 and after about 1500 rounds, I have never had a problem with the gun. Well, it doesn't like steel cased Wolf ammunition, but I have read that if you turn the gas system up it will cycle it reliably. I have read the horror stories about the charging handle breaking but I...

      AK Barrel, Shot out?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the advice. I will slug it to see where the barrel stands. Although, it sounds like the gun is shooting about as well as can be expected.

      AK Barrel, Shot out?

No, they're going clean and straight through the paper. You're probably right, the thing shoots well enough to not worry about...

      AK Barrel, Shot out?

Dear Fellow MD Shooters, I have recently acquired a Yugo M-64 parts kit gun. I have heard that many M-64 parts kits barrels are shot out, but how do you tell? I have inspected the bore and the rifling is still plainly visible and fairly crisp. I did the "bullet test" thing and the...

Any local FFL dealers sell AK-47s?

The guys at 2A Sales will do a regulated firearm transfer for $35 and classicarms.us has some pretty good deals on a multitude of 7.62 (and 5.45) AK rifles.

      Washington County anti outs himself.

Uggh. I couldn't finish it. I love the condescending, classist elitism: an architect won't own guns and a "fork lift operator that eats at Red Lobster" might have a deer rifle. Guess what pal, God-King Obama, Princess Pelosi and Lord Harry Reid consider you to be just as much of a revolting...

Tips For Successful Hap Baker Outing?

Good Evening Folks, I was thinking of making my first trip out to Hap Baker on Saturday, WX permitting. I was hoping you could offer some advice on what to bring. In addition to rifle and ammo, eyes and ears (of course), I was planning to bring: 1. Targets 2. Cardboard Backing 3...

      12 gauge vs 20 gauge

Be advised that inertial actions in Benellis, Franchi's and Stoegers don't start to cycle until after they have imparted the full recoil into your shoulder. Speaking from experience, they are NOT soft shooters.
