With what C&R rifle you often get caught violating with the ranges rules

We did recently (a few months ago) change the cease fire script. Our old script was good but some members were still confused. Some violations were blamed on the script because they said they believed that once "cease fire" was called, they were not allowed to touch their firearms so they...

With what C&R rifle you often get caught violating with the ranges rules

C&R rifles are very rarely the subject of violations. The most common rifle we see with violations is the AR-15. Some people don't know how or forget to remove the magazine, also we see a lot of ECI's hanging in the mag well. If you don't know where the ECI goes but I see you made the...

I HATE Using Corn Cob Media in a Vibratory Tumbler!

I tried the dryer sheet trick with corn cob media and was impressed, very little dust. Ran out of dryer sheets so I tried Viva Paper towels, no dust at all. The paper towels are cheaper too; 4-5 cents per dryer sheet compared to 1 cent per paper towel and the paper towels don't have any dyes...

With what C&R rifle you often get caught violating with the ranges rules

If the SKS has the stock fixed 10rd magazine, no need to remove or pop it open. If you have altered your SKS to accept the removeable magazine, remove it. That is AGC policy, one ECI in one chamber of the open cylinder. SKIP is correct, no need to drop the floorplates. Some shooters do it...

RRA and SA end opposition gun licensing bill

I've been trying to figure this whole thing out before I join the lynch mob, and came across this article that gives another perspective. https://bearingarms.com/bob-o/2017/05/02/sensationalist-missing-point-illinois/ Has anyone here heard anything bad or suspicious about TTAG?

      Cartridge History?

Absolutely, I also find it fascinating. The Hornady reloading manual gives a brief history of each cartridge. My SDI course is referencing Terminal Ballistics Research for some of the papers I have to write. http://www.ballisticstudies.com/ Don't overlook SAAMI, they are the authority...

      VA Beach Suggestions?

That's the one. Where did I get "Heritage"? I was there for their grand opening. Very nice looking place, slick operation.

      VA Beach Suggestions?

Yeah, forgot about them. Good place to buy bulk ammo, they have it by the pallet full sitting in the middle of the floor. Also there's a new place that opened up a couple years ago, Heritage something or other.

      VA Beach Suggestions?

I've been to that place a few times, they have quite a variety of collectible stuff, old milsurp rifles and just plain interesting things to look at. At the time (3 years ago), I wasn't very interested in milsurps like I am now so I don't know how their prices compare to national trends. For...

      Sonoran Desert Institute

BBS 100 is Marcia Backos and the class is seems rather large with over 20 students. The teacher is on top of it though, no delay in grading papers.

      Sonoran Desert Institute

I am currently enrolled in SDI's Associate of Firearms Technology degree program. Last year I took two courses and am now taking two courses: Accuracy and Functionality, and Basic Ballistics and Bullet Making. The information is very good and they pull from many different sources for the...

      Question about stove piping 9mm

Agreed. I would add that knowing what a load (factory or reload) will do from more than one gun is useful. My CZ shoots any load about 75-100 fps slower than my XDM. If I were to only use the CZ, I may think that my reloads are a little weak when in fact they are right where they need to be.

      35 Rem

For inside case neck lube, I use a dry powdered mica like this product: https://www.midwayusa.com/product/2124290522/frankford-arsenal-fine-powdered-mica I lube the outside with Imperial sizing wax, then dip the case mouth into the mica, then size. After sizing, wipe off the wax with a...

      Reloading Tip:

Thanks for the info. I hadn't heard of 30-30 with crimped primers before, so now I'll be watching for it.

Los Aztecas Mexican restaurant in Eldersburg

Agreed, the building is not much to look at on the outside, but on the inside it's a nice little restaurant. I took my daughter there a couple weeks ago for daddy-daughter night. She loved it. The seating is a little tight, not much room between tables but they get plenty of business, the...
