Confused by the Maryland 2-naught-features list

I'm trying to purchase a firearm for home defense. After some indecision between PCC, 12 gauge, or 223, I was convinced by online research that the 556 was the best choice. I went to try to get a Ruger 556, but I'm confused by the Maryland State Police website's listing it as banned vs the list...

      Airsoft alternative

I'm pretty happy with the Umarex 1911 that I bought off of Amazon CO2 works well in warm weather and is a lot more affordable than shooting ammo. That's how I learned how to handle pistols before I fired my first real one.

School sent police on welfare check because of meeting video

Perhaps the complaint was filed by someone who thinks that gun ownership is a hate crime. I, sadly, must admit that some of my friends fit that description.

Should it be difficult to pull the bolt on a carbine

      Cool I'll try that.

      Is your bank pro 2A?

I think it's hilarious that the maker of that website seriously thinks significant amounts people with money will stop doing business with a bank simply because they show up on a naughty list on this website. They should promote the website more and see if they have a chic-fil-a effect.

      Police reform bill (DC)

Writing software is actually a lot like writing policy. You're basically creating strict rules that will be put into a big system. Software development is basically the act of translating intent into a set of strict rules like policies or laws and I can assure you that smart, non-emotional...

Should it be difficult to pull the bolt on a carbine

That sounds likely yes. I shot it a few months ago and recall that it held bolt open after the last round was fired.

legality of home defense with firearm

That all makes sense. Honestly, if I saw a person in the process of lighting a molotov while they're standing on my lawn, I wouldn't wait to shoot. Even without my young kids, there's no way I'm going to "retreat" out of my home into a crowd willing to throw molotovs. If I waited until I was...

Should it be difficult to pull the bolt on a carbine

Sounds like a fun way to fix the problem.

Should it be difficult to pull the bolt on a carbine

I shot 50 rounds through it a few months ago and it worked just fine. I oiled the barrel afterwards, but didn't do anything specific for the bolt, which operates the same with and without snap caps in. I can chamber a round without any issues, but it takes take a second or two, which is too...

Should it be difficult to pull the bolt on a carbine

I just bought some snap caps for my highpoint 995 to practice drying firing and noticed that I'm not actually strong enough to easily and consistently eject the shells by pulling the bolt back. I'm not strong, but not super weak (bench 185 lb, chinups/pulls no problem), should it be that...

legality of home defense with firearm

Anyone familiar with the current MD law/ruling on using firearms to prevent someone from breaking into my home or on someone who has illegally entered my home? Do I still need to prove I was in fear of my life above and beyond the fact that they've broken in?

      Ideal Rifle For Current Situation

I've had some range time with my 9mm and tried 12 gauge once. I'm definitely going to try skeet shooting once they open back up. That way, I can kill 2 birds (pun intended) with one stone.

      Ideal Rifle For Current Situation

A highpoint 995 is the only firearm I own. When I bought it last year, I thought 10 rounds of 9mm would be enough to keep my fam safe. Now that I'm confronted with the much closer prospect of defending my home with one, I realize that I made a poor choice. The prospect of dealing with a...

      Where to buy target ammo

Very new to gun ownership. (Got a 9mm and 12 gauge) Looking at the recent Walmart post, it seems like I really missed out on an opportunity to get cheap ammo. Anyone have suggestions on good places in the Maryland/DC area to buy ammo now that Walmart is not an option or should I just buy...
