      First time trap shooting

I went to Loch Raven skeet and trap to shoot with the owner of the company I work part time for. I’ve shot skeet and sporting clays but had never tried trap. I really enjoyed it and did ok. My last round I shot 23 out of 25. We were shooting the wobble trap house so I shot over those low flyers...

      Hunting Airgun Recommendation

I have a lot of air guns but my go to for squirrels and rats is the 22 cal Diana 34. It’s got a great trigger and isn’t to fussy about what pellets I use. As with most springers I’ve shot it takes a little getting used to as far as shooting it consistently but it’s got plenty of zip to knock out...

      2023-2024 Waterfowl Season

Ive had a really good year on a farm pond. I’ve been absolutely crushing geese with my vintage iron.

      OTF and into my thumb.

Handle sharp objects for any amount of time you eventually get bit. Nature of the beast. I had a call one time for a fella who cut himself while trying to add a hole in his belt with an exacto knife. Not an uncommon way to injure yourself right? What makes this case interesting is, he was...

Deer Firearms '23 - What's your Gun of Choice

I wanted the 110 barnes but couldn’t find them or the Vmax at the time. I loaded the 120s to max velocity and the last one I shot totally destroyed the top of the heart. She ran about 40 yards but still fell within sight leaking all the way. Even loaded to the max they are still very mild even...

Deer Firearms '23 - What's your Gun of Choice

I hand loaded some barnes 120 tac tx for the blk and I was impressed on its performance on a large doe I took with it. Some argue it’s not a very good deer cartridge but I can attest to the fact that if you put the bullet where it needs to go it will put them down just fine.

Deer Firearms '23 - What's your Gun of Choice

No worries. I’m just a little disgruntled because I have a beautiful mid 80s marlin 444 that shoots lights out with my hand loads, a nice 350 legend with a suppressor I put together on a TC encore that will shoot one inch 5 shot groups with a 125gr load I came up with all just sitting in my...

Deer Firearms '23 - What's your Gun of Choice

Long story short, The unfortunate part is all my guns are locked up in a bitter divorce process.

Deer Firearms '23 - What's your Gun of Choice

My 444 marlin has been my go to since they started allowing strait walls. With FTX handloads I could push it to 200 yards but I would rarely ever have to shoot that far. Unfortunately this year I’m using a borrowed ruger Deerfield 44 mag.

Burglary at AM Shooting Supply, Damascus

I was just sitting here thinking how a couple of those riot control devices that explode sending out a bunch of rubber balls would be useful in this situation. Robbers smash wall, it sets off a alarm to your phone. Once inside you remote detonate said devices. If that does not deter them then...

      Browning A5 and goose hunting

My questions were answered 10 fold and I would expect nothing less from you good group of guys on here. I enjoy the wisdom, knowledge and the stories no matter what direction the thread goes. It’s all relative to me.

      Browning A5 and goose hunting

From what I gather mine is a A5 light. It only has one bronze ring ( I thought it was brass) and one steel ring. The steel ring was at the opposite side of the spring by the receiver from the bronze one. I’m not really sure if that’s where it’s supposed to be or not. I’m still learning the...

      Browning A5 and goose hunting

I appreciate it and it is what it is. Luckily I get to keep all my guns just can’t use them until the divorce is finalized. Fortunately the farmer and his family treats me like another son and told me I could have it as long as I took care of it. I will do just that whether I can shoot it well...

      Browning A5 and goose hunting

Absolutely. I appreciate that. I’ll let you know when I get it all tore down. It’s going to get a good cleaning and a good recoils pad at the very least. I need a bit extra length of pull.

      Browning A5 and goose hunting

I have a browning B2000 that still has that sticker in the forearm. As long as I have had it, it would only cycle the heaviest 3” loads. Makes me wonder now if the rings may be incorrectly installed. I never really paid close attention to them.
