Figured this is a good time to give a update.
Few years back had another visit from the local Sheriffs office. Im guessing they got tired of the BS complaints becuase they set the neighbors straight. They told the neighbors and I, Im not breaking any laws, and the noise ordnance does not apply...
My backstop is just a huge natural hillside i shoot into. Kinda hard to describe, but at the very back of my range, the target is about half way up the hill. Didn't make any other accommodations. All natural land topography.
Im assuming your in AA CO, Im not aware of there laws regarding...
My Grandmother has been carrying a Browning .380 in her purse since the mid 70's. Its been loaded with the same ammo since the day she started carrying it. Took it out the other day and emptied the mag no issues.
I was in the market for a semi Barrett .50 also 3 years ago. No dealer will even entertain the idea of splitting hairs with MSP over the issue. I called everywhere. The only thing close to the Barrett you can transfer in MD is the Serbu BFG 50A. I settled and got a M99.
Its a unregulated Long gun in Maryland, so you can just hand it to him. Since its been in the family so long, I doubt its even registered. Would be a shame if someone did

Correction last name is "Harts" not Hart
appreciate the response! I don't plan on giving it, just looking to see what others been thru. A officer on the phone told me a officer can come out with a decibel meter and check, but if I'm 150yds away from a structure i wouldn't be in violation of the ordnance. Who knows, only time will tell
Thanks everyone for the responses. Due to the increase in ammo prices, this is giving me some time to evaluate my range rather than using it. Im going to look into moving further back, away from this neighbor. That way he cant "see my rifles barrels".
I called the local sheriffs office and...
tried, they are not interested. I even offered my land for them to ride their dirt bikes around on my trails. i think its the 1acre guy jealous of the freedom of big land guy type deal
appreciate you sharing that. I think im gonna lighten up on how often i shoot, during that down time, ill look into some improvements i can make
