Not sure where this belongs but given her stance on PA permits, I thought to share it.

An interesting tidbit fromthe Lawrence County, Pa Sheriff's website:
3. Applicants must be 21 years of age and a Lawrence County resident or a resident of another state in possession
of a License To Carry Firearms or similar license for that state.
I was hoping to apply when I was home later...
Thanks! That's clear and concise. The two piece is what it came with and I'm going to try the GI setup. This is probably going to wind up down tne road as a carry pistol and simple is good.

The Alien Gear holster is designed so that you can tuck your shirt in between the clips and the holster. I tried that out yesterday and it made quite a difference drawing the weapon. I'm not sure I want to go that route, even with practice.
Today I'm home sick again (second day--lots of...
Actually, I've been reading the thread with interest. My goal is to be able to field strip the handgun in the field with no tools. I'm still not sure that I understand the difference between the single or two piece guide rods.
This is a vanilla Springfield Loaded. It's a nice handgun, but...
Following up again folks... I've been wearing my 1911 around the house and experimenting with location. Right now the muzzle is just inboard of my back pocket and the grips are between 4 and 5 o'clock. It's confortable but the draw is slower than with the weapon closer to my hip. I'm going to...

Looks like I can do a drop in replacement as long as I replace the guide rod as well. I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't necessarily like the two piece plug. Is there anyone...
Thanks folks. After I posted I moved the holster back a bit and it felt a bit better sitting down. (Not that it was bad before, by any means.) I see what alucard means though. The draw was a bit awkward there. I think next I'll try canting the butt forward a bit and see if that clears up the...
My Springfield Arms Loaded 1911 requires an Allen wrench to remove the recoil spring plug. I suspect this makss it more accurate but I don't like the notion for field carry. I'd like to be able to swap it out for traditional one. Has anyone here done that? I assume I can order parts from any of...
I needed a holster for my 1911 and, after some thought decided to go with the Aliengear Cloak Tuck that offers a plastic shell on a leather backing. The pistol is a full sized 5" Springfield Arms and, while it seems like a cannon, it's what I'm comfortable with. Anyway, I've been wearing it...
