I have to say, I highly recommend the P365. It is what I carry. Same size as my Glock 43, but 10-12 rounds instead of 6. And the trigger is nice too. If you like carrying the 43 I think you will really enjoy the P365.
There is no restriction in Maryland on possession of a 50 round magazine, or even a 100 round magazine. There is only a ban on purchasing or selling one inside state lines. Most people these days drive to Virginia or some other state to purchase magazines.
Well spoken. I also agree that the interpretation of Maryland law is wrong, but it is the MSP who enforce the law so we need to follow their interpretation. Even if you got the 77r approved, if it is truly a "handgun" under Maryland law and you are also claiming it is a "handgun" under Federal...
I agree. I tried very hard to get my PS90 to qualify as a pistol under Maryland law and still be an SBR for federal purposes. However the ATF did not agree with my reasoning. This is what they sent me:
"Please verify overall length as measured from tip of muzzle to rear of fully extended...
This is how I would explain it: The original stock was removed. It was replaced with not two stocks but ONE stock which is "adjustable" or folding. The fact that the weapon can be fired while folded does not make it two different stocks. It is one piece, and the OAL is measured when fully...
Even though the MD law still considers SBRs "handguns" and they should be legal, the MSP has stated that is not their opinion and all SBRs have to be 29" regardless of whether they are on the registry...
Not necessarily.
MD Criminal Law §4–301(g) “Flash suppressor” means a device that functions, or is intended to function, to perceptibly reduce or redirect muzzle flash from the shooter’s field of vision.
Not all suppressors hide the flash all that well so I don't think they are covered...
The guy to talk to is Nick Champlin. He owns Promoted Pawn and makes all kinds of custom PS90 parts. He also makes the extended buttplate for the regular PS90 (not SBR) that I had first (in order to make the regular PS90 a Maryland legal 29")...
I did buy the gun post 2013. However I did already have possession since I had a small carbon fiber buttstock extension plate to make it long enough to be Maryland legal (3 inches). The SBR stuff finally came in today though.
I just got my ATF Form 1 approval to SBR my FN PS90! The Form 1 came back in today.
Yes, this is Maryland legal (29" OAL).
Yes, this took a lot of effort (but worth it).
It will remain Maryland legal with a special stock (see pictures). It is a modified AK underfolder which folds right...
It seems I was mistaken and you can actually appeal your restrictions even now. What is your "good and substantial reason?" If you are a business owner you have a good chance.
I received my permit with the restrictions back in December 2016, and the hearing was 6 months later. Maryland moves slowly. The MSP is supposed to decide about your initial permit within 90 days but mine took more than 120 before I received my first permit.
