Thanks for the replies I will certainly consider that. Seems like the person at the range was pretty biased and offered no grounds on why the Walther was a bad option. They certainly loved Glock but as a store owner I would think you need to be open minded and hear out customers.
Also to clear things up once I get my first pistol I will likely buy a Glock 26 as the second purchase I make.
Not that it even matters as a carry option. Just wait til we need permits for water guns.

Maybe atypical wasn't the word BUT I understand why "everyone" owns the Glock. It just works. Let me confirm that I will buy Glock at some point. It is just that I prefer my first purchase to be something other than a Glock. Just my conviction.
