Do you know what's in the full check? The 8-day release is with a NICS check which is considered good enough for purchase of several different firearms.
Maryland does NICS then checks to see if you have any parking tickets, if you paid your red light camera ticket, if you stopped beating...
He is releasing in order by date and by appointment only so he doesn't get swamped, so I'm reluctant to say. I will say that South Carroll Sporting Goods is a place I'll plan to do business for years to come!
My FFL called MSP and was told he could release, so he is clearing out the safe!
I picked up my March purchase and will get my April and May purchases as soon as he calls for NICS numbers (he's processing orders as fast as one person can in the order they were placed).
ATF is on our side here. They told MSP to get things moving and are probably looking around to see just how bad things are. MSP is telling all FFLs that inquire that they can release any MD-regulated firearm on day 8.
Well, I am happy to report that my FFL did his checking and was told by MSP that release on day 8 is now permitted with a NICS check. Apparently it had something to do with heat from ATF and a lawsuit.
Prior to this, a call to NICS for a handgun would result in being referred to MSP, but he...
That's exactly what Annpolis wants to hear!
Personally, I'm not giving in no matter the pain level. I keep buying what I can - like stripped lowers for guns I'll probably never build but the paperwork continues to give this state grief and ammunition to those of us that want this...
Mine doesn't! I have stuff in storage there since March!
And now he does! He checked to be certain and is now letting us have our toys! I just had a ND come through a short time ago, so there shouldn't be concern with releasing a rifle and a lower especially when MSP has had over 9 weeks to...
Ah, sorry about that. There is a separate thread for the DC wait time, so I didn't look at it that way!
I'm glad the DC wait time isn't as long as the firearm line!
Dunno how you got so lucky! I have DC and carry permits plus handgun approvals earlier this year, but put paperwork in for a Ruger SR-556 in March and some Stag Arms lowers in April and haven't heard a word since!
I can't believe On Target just did this with little thought. I'm certain they have done their research and spent time with lawyers. I suspect that's why they didn't start to do this right away, but took the time to do the research and now are ready to move out.
I believe that's what Engagement Arms is doing - letting subsequent purchases go on day 8 if you've already had a Not Disapproved come back through them from a previous purchase. Seems very reasonable to me!
This is a sorry state.
A coworker just received his call. He purchased in February! Ten weeks, 10 weeks to process a single form. That's yet another failure in the inadequate systems our politicians have in place in this state. They charge us more in taxes and give us reduced services by...
