Thanks, all, please keep these ideas coming!
My deal is that I'm six months in to what I've been told will be a 6 to 12 month retina re-attachment surgery in my non-dominant eye and hand, so I spent 6 months off the firing line, recoil avoidance and all of that, and even though I'm nowhere...
I recently was able to lay my hands on a NIB Ruger LCRx 38 cal with a 3 inch barrel, after waiting a long time. While I have a ways to go before I'm anywhere close to mastering it -- this is my first experience with a light weight wheel gun and my first with less than a 4 inch barrel -- so far...
I haven't had time to read all of the reply posts yet, so please forgive me if this has already been covered.
I work for the U.S. Federal Government and I am a licensed attorney.
It is unlawful to bring a firearm into a facility owned or leased by the US Federal Government unless you are...
This must have been one hell of a "boating accident" . . . . The Kid and Grandpa reeled in TWO 50 cal Barretts!!

IMHO, I would not. My only Taurus is a PT 1911, it looks pretty, but I can't wait to unload it. I'm old school, love revolvers, haven't yet been able to afford a S&W, but I love the heck out of my Ruger GP100 4 incher, worth every penny more than I would have paid for a comparable Taurus wheeler.
Funny you should mention that, Tungsten. The problem I'm finding with Sig is that they make too many variants, too many choices and decisions to make! And my eyes always seem to go back to something like the 226. I'm old school, I like a hammer and the feel of steel in my hands, "steel is...
So, after saving up my pandemic pennies, I'm thinking about picking up a Sig 9 mil, I'm still researching the options, so I don't know which model yet, but I'm thinking it will be full size -- I've got big hands and fingers and no reason to go CCW -- probably not a striker fire, and I'm not...
And this thread reminds me that folks are capable of doing all kinds of stupid a** sh*t and reminds me of a story.
One day, I'm standing in the check in line at at an indoor gun range, three dudes walk in, walk past me, and from six feet away I could smell the weed smoke coming off of them ...
This seems to be the answer:

At the risk of potentially offending anyone on this thread -- I'm certain what I'm about to say does not resemble you . . . . But, for eight years, I worked in a U.S. Government facility that was located right next door to the University of Maryland campus police department training center. I...
I picked up an M&P Shield .40 cal on consignment from a reputable local shop, looks to be reasonably lightly used, with XS Sight Systems Big Dot sights. I put in a new stainless steel recoil spring. I picked it up a couple of weeks before the COVID-19 shutdown, so I've only been able to take...
I have replaced the factory installed decocker on my CZ 75B Omega with the safety setup as provided out-of-the-box. I watched a couple of YouTube videos before making the installation.
The safety side lever appears to be sitting flush, or as flush as appears to be possible. The safety works...
I love my CZ 75B Omega. I have large hands, and the grip fits me perfectly, nice palm swell. The trigger is crisp and clean. It comes out of the box with an ambidexterous decocker, but you can swap it out for a safety if that's your preference -- the safety comes with the gun.

Once again, Maryland Shooters, thanks for the great advice!
I'm concerned about the noise issue with putting a brake on a .308 -- I very much value the importance of my hearing and the hearing of those around me.
I'm liking the ideas of recoil pads and ditching the cheap...
