Double check that you're not clicking 'next month' instead of 'next week' when you go to look through the schedule. I made that mistake once. I checked the availability just a couple of days ago and they had time slots the week of 10/31 open.
Got mine in Gettysburg this afternoon - was in the building for probably 4 minutes total, and that included the security screen, two elevator rides, a pit stop, and getting my actual permit. The only bummer is that they wouldn't do ink prints for my FL application.
Just as another data point - I submitted to Adams county on Tuesday 10/4 and was approved today 10/7. There are no more pickup appointments left for next week, so I'm scheduled for the week of 10/17...plan on flying up if the weather is good!
