      M1903 vs M1917

I agree, I’d take the 1917 over the 03. I’ve shot my 1917 in high power matches and action shooting matches and the sights just work so well for both types of shooting. I just could never shoot the 1903 that well despite trying many times. Only downside is it’s heavier and a bit longer but in a...

      JI marked Hi-power mags

I got some not too long ago for an Inglis HP for around $50, but maybe I just got lucky. Good to know if $100 is about the regular going rate

      Tuning the Mosin M44

That's pretty good with an M44 at 100 yards. Anywhere inside 2-3" groups excluding the flier is solid. If you want to try it in the CMP style matches, my advice would be to get some of of the SR targets (I think the reduced centers for 100 yards are the SR-1C) and see what 10 rounds looks like...

      Firing corrosive ammo

Don't stress over it too much, just clean it when you get home and it'll be fine. I just run some warm water down the barrel followed by some dry patches then oiled patches, and wipe down the bolt/receiver area. Never had a problem Its when you let it sit for a while that it will cause problems

Any SVT-40 experts / knowledgable folks here? I have questions....

Well they're not just using new old stock parts during refurbishment, they're breaking all the rifles down new and old, throwing parts into bins, inspecting/refinishing and rebuilding essentially barreled receivers with parts from rifles that could have been made at any time during production...

Any SVT-40 experts / knowledgable folks here? I have questions....

Being a Soviet refurb it’s not uncommon for it to have earlier parts, I have a 1943 with a 6 port muzzle brake and other early features. Most import on a rifle like that is to make sure the bore and gas system are in good shape. Looks nice on the outside from the pictures

Lets hear some stories. What got you into C&R?

Realizing I could get an M1 that my friends and I saw in our favorite movies and videogames blew my mind. I saved all my teenage job money and my friend and I got our dads to fill out the cmp paperwork for a service grade when we were 16. Best day ever when those arrived
