Relocating to NC, handgun purchase, and what a difference a state makes….

Yes, I heard about those magical pieces of paper that somehow stopped criminals from doing ‘criminal things’ - except they didn’t of course. Not anymore than Maryland’s HQL. Has anyone arrested for a bad deed with a firearm in Maryland been in possession of an HQL at their time of arrest? Me...

Funny about the seafood. I miss that too, and no matter who advertises it as ”Maryland Style”, well, it just isn’t. I can adjust and get my fix on those occasional trips north though. After all I moved, the seafood didn’t. Now, if those transplanted New Yorkers would just shut up and quit...

Yeah, just look now. The teens are off the hook with carjackings and flash mob thefts, created in part by loose enforcement of law & order via the Dem-controlled legislative sessions, and now they’re backpedaling trying to take the focus off themselves while they come up with another scheme to...

I know of him and my mom likes him. That’s another thing. I may feel like my vote actually counts for the first time in a long time here in NC.

Relocating to NC, handgun purchase, and what a difference a state makes….

Hi all. I was treated as _not_ being an assumed criminal last week (hint-it wasn’t in Maryland!). I’m in the process of relocating from Maryland, where I’ve resided all my 60 years, to North Carolina and I wanted to see what it was like to purchase a handgun. After obtaining my North Carolina...

      *** Lever Action Porn ***

Thanks Smoke. Sadly, he only lasted 12 more years and passed at age 49. My grandmother, his wife, just turned 92. Awesome to have something of him though.

Maryland State Senator Michael Hough is going to Raffle off an AR15

I'm not in his district either, but donated anyways. I got my winning numbers via email about 30 minutes later. You guys can quit wasting your time now. :D

Retro porn The black and white pic is of my grandfather opening Christmas gifts at home in 1957 at, of all places, Anacostia DC. The rifle leaning against the wall is a Winchester Model 94, which I now possess (color picture). My grandmother purchased it from a hardware store in NE DC. Ahh...

Slightly different transfer question, I think

Head nods! I'll tell them that I can't accept it as a gift until we transfer it the _right_ way. I'll probably be making a trip down South before too long anyways. I'll make arrangements with a FFL up here and have him, or a NC FFL, ship it up depending on what the FFL will accept. The idea...

Slightly different transfer question, I think

I can't disagree with you there. Maryland sucks! I think I'll just return it and have them ship it up.

Slightly different transfer question, I think

My parent have committed a federal crime by driving up to Maryland, unloaded gun in trunk, and dropped it off at my house? Really?

Slightly different transfer question, I think

I'm not worried about the "world to see." I wanted to know what the real world experience is. Wouldn't you?

Slightly different transfer question, I think

      Loaned----Exactly!

Slightly different transfer question, I think

Exactly. I got a positive hit from a FFL today. I'll jump through the hoops if needed. You know. I actually OBEY the law!

Slightly different transfer question, I think

I emailed a couple of local FFL folks. I figure I'd be better off seeing what they can do for me, or at least give me some advice. All my old man has to do in NC to buy a handgun and walk out the door with it immediately is show that he has a CCW card. I'm jealous!
