      Remove screw?

Son of a gun, it worked! Came off easy peasy. Thanks!!!

      Remove screw?

It won't damage the slide? The sight is metal, not plastic.

      Remove screw?

I can give it a try. Thanks.

      Remove screw?

Already resigned to having to replace the sight. Thanks.

      Remove screw?

Not sure what the rubber band trick is?

      Remove screw?

I think I mentioned in my original post that it is for a Truglo sight. It is the rear sight, and the recessed set screw is the issue. I tried heat, no joy. Does anyone know of a machine shop in Rockville or Silver Spring that might be able to drill it out? I'd rather not damage the slide.

      Remove screw?

It is a small set screw No trick involved. I have done many of these sights, with nary a problem and no reason to have anticipated one.

      Remove screw?

Both good ideas. Alas, it is recessed set screw. I’m probably going to have to sacrifice the sight.

      Remove screw?

I tried to remove a Truglo sight screw on a Glock, with no luck, and it seems to be stripped. Does anyone know of a machine shop (or some other way) to remove the screw without damaging the slide? Thanks.

Springfield 1911 DS vs Walther PDP Match?

I am jonesing for a 2011 pistol and have looked at (of course) the Staccato, which is amazing - so is the price, so I'd rather avoid that. I was wondering what the consensus is between the Springfield 1911 DS and the Walther PDP? Trigger, reliability, accuracy, etc? Also, I have checked out the...

For sale Springfield XDS, includes Crimson Trace Laser, extra mag

I am making room in my safe and have a Springfield XDS in .45ACP for sale. It is like-new, no more than 25 rounds through it. Includes everything it came with, as pictured in the images, including installed Crimson trace laser, one 7-round finger-extended magazine, one standard 5 round magazine...

      Gilbert's newest idiocy

I have to respectfully disagree. I am paying a significant amount for my own membership, as well as bringing in students who are exposed to the range (for better or worse) and who who pay a ridiculous fee for just a few minutes, plus the cost of ammo (as previously posted, about $50). Some of...

      Gilbert's newest idiocy

I'm a member of the IWLA too, but I can't bring students. I'm going to start to go to Cindy's (the former On Target, whose owners and employees were also apparently trained in customer dis-service).
