      HQL Completely Online Training Exemption

I learned that here. But that section wouldn't let me complete until I put something in, so I checked that.

      HQL Completely Online Training Exemption

I had to put in all of that information, for the Training Exempt HQL. The difficult section to complete was the section where I was asked about training. The only choices were hunting, which had not completed. I uploaded my "Firearms Safety Course" certificate, completed in 2008. But that was...

      HQL Completely Online Training Exemption

Well, my Training Exemption application has been filed. I was asked about training anyway (instructor choices came up). I just uploaded my 2008 Firearms Safety Certificate, handgun info and my fingerprint documentation. Hopefully that will be acceptable. They took my $50 at any rate...

      HQL Completely Online Training Exemption

I'm all set. I am exempt from the training. I had my fingerprints done today at All American Protective Services in Rockville, $64. Atlantic Guns recomended them, process took 15 minutes, I just walked in.

      HQL Completely Online Training Exemption

I'm still trying to decipher this new program. I do not have a hunting license. I purchased a Ruger SP101 (3" barrell) in 2008,using the old "Firearms Safety Course". Does this qualify for an exemption? The clerk at BassPro in Columbia said I need to complete the HQL training (offered by...

      HQL Completely Online Training Exemption

I haven't bought a gun since 2008, when I completed the online Firearms Safety Course (I still have that certificate). I just tried to buy a handgun at Bass Pro in Baltimore and boy did I get a rude awakening. My SIL owns a shop in WV and I'd like to buy from him and transfer via a...

Your First gun---either as a kid or an adult?

My uncle owned a sporting goods/gun store at Harvey's Lake, near Wilkes-Barre PA. I worked the store most of my summer and holiday vacations. He gave me my first gun, a Ithaca Model 66 20 gauge single-shot. Someone earlier mentioned you chose your shots carefully with a single-barrel! I sold...

      LCR now in .357Mag

I have an SP101 in 3" with some Hogue rubber grips. It shoots .38's or .357's with a very similar recoil. The wife is small, but has no issues shooting the gun even with .357 ammo. I don't have much experience with other large bore handguns, but my SP101 is a lot more fun to shoot than my...

      Info on this S&W

Guys: I appreciate all the comments on the gun. I talked to the owner today (my brother's mother-in-law). She still wants to get rid of the gun, but it appears my brother told her he would like to have it to keep it in the family. The wrinkle is his wife (owners daughter) is very much...

She's a nice relative and I think they could use the cash, so no reselling on my end. I'll keep everyone posted.

      Info on this S&W

It is a six shot and appears to be nickel plated. I'm not interested in it myself, but told her I might be able to come up with a value. She'll be a little disappointed in $300.

      Info on this S&W

I was at a family Christmas party this weekend and one of my relatives brought out this Smith & Wesson .357. The gun belonged to her father, who was a NC Police chief (small town, I forget) from 1960 to 1980. He passed away this past year. This was his service weapon and she recently found it...
