When you have a CNC mill in the garage and more lowers laying around than sense. Still a work in progress, but I was going for stupidity, not reliability... As soon as i get my form 1 approved, the barrel and bolt will get bought. Hopefully pre-engraving the trust on it isn't bad luck. Just...
figured id add to this.

tried going through all these pages on here and on that other thread, but I cant find the answer to this question. so if it has already been answered i apologize.
Lets say I form 1 SBR one of these 80% lowers. Can I still engrave that myself and satisfy the requirements and not do the 77r for...
not arguing that at all. all im getting at is that any tube can be threaded ASR on one end, 1.422-24 on the other. then they can sell one of the many commercial front caps that are threaded in that and a plethora of mounts. All they manufacture is a tube, the rest is on the end user to obey all...
i was more referring to them being called "silencer parts" and going through the paperwork with the ATF to manufacture "silencer parts".
on the endcap issue though. still makes me wonder why none of form 1 people would sell endcaps separate from tubes with the hole in them. if dead air and SiCo...
I may be mistaken, but for that would require them to change their definition of what is a silencer is for them to do that. Currently the way it is written with my understanding is that each "silencer part" you buy would require a transfer on a form 4. And for the machine shops to manufacture...
For some reason i thought they stopped selling too like every one else. that's good to know that i can still make sure i can keep a carbon fiber barrel from getting banged up.
Correct. I went overkill and sent pictures of my equipment. Buddy who also got approved said he will just be using machine tools and that materials will be purchased dependant on the approval of the form 1.
Before this BS happened I was going to purchase a tube and endcap and machine all the...
couldn't agree more.
While I don't expect too much, but here was my response to them. Hopefully going the extra mile to appease these worthless POSs at the ATF with pictures of the equipment I have will move this crap along as it is... Well everyone knows what it is.
Pictures of the...
Just got this in my email... asking for proof as to how I will make it.
Going to send them links to various metal sites online as to where I will purchase it and a picture of my cnc mill and manual lathe with my name and date on a paper place on it as to how I will make it.
Complete crap...
Got mine this afternoon. Came here to see how many others got one too.
I'm ignoring it as everything I did is legal and it just seems like they are just fishing. If the ATF would of spent 2 seconds just looking into who the sent these letters too, they would of found most are already in there...
Smaller, shorter tube and aluminum construction mostly i think is the reason. The OD is 1.0, ID is 0.870, and is not bored concentric. The "higher end" 22lr form 1s that you would get from SPC and the like would be usually be built out of a B cell tube which is 1.25 OD / 1.150ID at 6" typically...
I can argue both points as to what is more important, extreme spread or standard deviation. But in my opinion ES is more important with a small sample size, SD when you have a larger. At the end of the day, its all just a fancy way to give a probability as to what your muzzle velocity is. But...
