+1 on your review. I'm leaving the state soon, and know I will miss Duffy's and Vince's patience with me and my endless questions as well. He figured out a weird issue with a new silencer I bought from him that was behaving strangely the first time I used it. The issue resulted in minor damage...
I guess I've been considering all options here, but my first impulse has always been to buy suppressors dedicated to a particular caliber in an effort to get the maximum suppression capability (which is, of course, the reason for using them after all). I have no plans to go higher than .308, but...
This thread died a somewhat quick death- was hoping for some more opinions! I'm reviving it, but only because I'm considering changing my criterion to the "best" suppressor for double-duty on a .308 bolt gun and the .223 semi-auto. For those with the experience, is it worth the investment purely...
Interesting read. Wasn't even aware of a couple of those manufacturers! AAC certainly has taken a bit of a popularity hit and it appears SilencerCo is coming up along with TBAC, of course. Hadn't heard of Jet before. No Gemtech surprises me.
I hear what you're saying and will definitely go for something that will stand up to whatever I may dish out someday!
So I'm also hearing mixed opinions on direct thread vs. QD. Don't like the idea of shooting the suppressor loose which makes me think I'm perhaps better suited to a QD, though...
Fellow hearing enthusiasts-
I'm in the market for a 223 can. I'm not brand new to suppressors (have an AWC Amphibian II and an Osprey on the way), but I haven't had an opportunity for firsthand comparisons of rifle suppressors and am hoping for some advice from those of you that own, have...
Whatever happened to AWC? I have one of their Amphibian II suppressed 22's that I bought in the mid-90's and the thing is dead quiet. Their Thundertrap in 308 used to get top marks but that was obviously quite some time ago... Just wonderin' :)!
Well, I have to admit, I'm astounded. In the mail today was my MSP signed Form 4. Just shy of 7 weeks since the day I dropped it off. Hope this is a sign of an up-tick in processing speed, but could be random. My luck is usually the other kind so this really made my day. Now the long wait begins...
Apparently they lie right to your face too. I dropped off my Form 4 a week or so ago and they told me 4 to 6 weeks. Clearly exaggerated. Bad enough the BATFE takes 10 months, now we need to add few couple more for slow ass MSP. :bs::bs::bs:
