Want to stay with Ruger . My LC9 ( hammer fired) hides well on my skinny frame and has proved reliable with no mods aside from pinky extension.
    my everyday carry.

I guess im of the minority that carries the same gun, in the same location, all the time. Under stress of a fight for your life, there is no chance of getting confused of which gun in the rotation you maybe attempting to save your life with. Silly me.
I'd agree. Only time ever consider a second carry piece would be winter but even if I did it would still be striker fired with no safety, that way operation is identical to my carry piece.

I love my Sp101 but partially that's because it is indeed a heavy hunk of steel. Absent needing the power of .357 magnum, I can't see me carrying mine.
That is the same with me. The SP101, loaded with 357, after a long day feels like carrying a brick on your hip. That is why I am looking for somethings smaller and lighter. SR9c for winter and the newbie for summer.

I'm not usually one to discourage buying of guns , but .......

Do you actually * Like * your SR9c ? Shoot it well ? Reasonably satisfactory in your current usage ( carry ) ?

Did some quick checking. Somewhat oversimplified , " Imatation Glock , In-between G26 and G19 in size " . ( Not particularly a slam , I call all polymer striker pistols Imitation Glocks , at that would be a worthwhile size for many/ most people. )

Most of the suggestions are more on the order of Replacements for the SR9c , rather than additions .

Binary Question- Is pocket carry a defining parameter ?

If Yes - Size is all important, even to a degree of trade off of shootability . Which seems to point to Original format P- 365 .

If No , part 1 - Whipping out the usual internet handgun comparison site , the differences between your Tactical dude recommended and your existing, and the size differences are ..... subtle
.35 in height , .27 in width . I get it sometimes minor changes can make big difference in Feel or Balance * to you * . If that's the case, you're answering yourself.

If NO , part 2 - You actually consider your SR9C kinda OK , kinda Meh , and you actually Like , and shoot better with another of the plethora of usual subcompact suspects , perhaps in one of the enlarged versions ? Then pick one on the basis of which you shoot best .

    My slightly skewed druthers :

If I liked an SR9c reasonably well , I'd declare it had my 9mm carry requirements covered .

I'd address the other half , with a lightweight .38 Only Revolver. S&W Airweights invented and define the subcategory, but I suspect you'd go Ruger .

Hellcat or P365. Flip a coin.
I tried both and went Hellcat. The P365 didn't fit my grip as well and I like the stick sights better on the Hellcat. Both are great compromise pistols.

Hello all. I am in the search for a new firearm to add to my CCW rotation. The two that I have now are a Ruger SR9C and a Ruger SP101 357, which neither have ever hiccupped on me. Now looking for something smaller and lighter then I have now. Which one would you pick out of the ones below. I have narrowed it down to the following:

    1. Sig Sauer P365
    2. Hellcat
    3. HK VP9SK
    4. HK P30SK
    5. FN Reflex recommended by Tactical Shepard and feels amazing in hand.

Anyone wish to throw something else into the mix and if so why?

    Consider looking at the following:

Ruger LCRx 357/38spl- it’s a great “get off me” tool.
S&W CSX- cool -like a smaller 1911. And is the new edc of Sootch/Youtube. I’m looking at one myself.

came here to post this. My rotation is a G43X (with Shield mags) carried appendix and a Ruger LCP max carried in a pocket holster. I find myself carrying the LCP roughly 90% of the time, it's just so darn easy.
The LCP Max definitely disappears like nothing else. I still have my LCP I and II that I got when they both came out and it’s amazing how close in size they are but the difference in capacity, sights, and shooting experience is evolutionary.
