Since I show an interest in 2A, Facebook slams me with every ad from everyone giving MD W&C classes. I'd shocked by the number of UNSAFE practices and situations some instructors allow in their classes and are so unaware that they use pictures of unsafe situations in their ads.

It sadly shows how little they know about firearms, firearm safety, firearms training, training in general and advertizing.

In our classes SAFETY is #1

You mean behind signing up and paying… lol

It is remarkable the folks that profess proficiency and offer training.

Only thing worse than unsafe/bad habits shooting is a nitwit who is determined to make folks do it his silky assed/unsafe way.

Making a mistake is how we learn. Teaching unsafe techniques is gonna cost somebody then our entire community. THAT will reinforce the anti’s.

    Great reminder Mark.

    "Trust me, I"m a professional"

Many here have heard and seen wack stuff from so called "Professionals" and "Experts". There are people poor at what they do in every profession.
I have many times watched security guard training over at On Target years ago and was amazed at what I saw from instructors and students. Can't remember how many times I heard "I'm not supposed to do this but....."

Yes, screen capture that stuff and post. or just link the fakebook posts

Mostly W&C classes without any holster (much less OWB as I have been required as a student in any equivalent or higher class). Students handling handguns while they are not at the actual shooting station. Students walking around carrying handguns pointed at their own feet. With handling like that, there had to be situations where students swept everyone present. If you are not afraid of novices (or anyone) handling weapons like that, you don't understand the danger involved.

Less unsafe were some really bad shooting stances and grips. Students looked like they were about to loose their balance and fall over (which could potentially be unsafe, but it's hard to tell). Sometimes some weird inside out Weaver stances. Feet too close together, feet too far apart. Leaning back. Students with just plain wrong grip/hand positions, tangled up thumbs and hands ready for slide slice. I have had students in those situations and coached them for improvement, but I would NEVER use that picture advertising my class.

Ok, post some links to these ads so people can see what you are talking about…

Pretty sure what I typed is clear. If you REALLY need pictures I'll have to blur out the faces, too much work.

lol…. That’s why I plate up when I go to any range and look at the quiet, slow ranges and go at off peak times and days. I work nights so that’s a little easier for me to do.
