Which AK-47 is best?

I'm looking to buy an AK and was wondering what everyone's opinions were on brands. Thanks

Im not sure the issue is whats best anymore, but what can you get.

All things available I would say either preban Norinco or converted early Mak90 or an Arsenal SLR10X series.

USN24 January 19th, 2013 04:53 PM

I've been looking at a Yugo M70

MauiWowie January 19th, 2013 04:54 PM

Currently any AK you can find is a pretty good brand...

Best ones hands down are Chinese and SGL Saiga's. just about everything else are parts kits AK's

Neot January 19th, 2013 05:12 PM

Arsenals are pretty much the best commonly found AKs in my opinion, probably the most accurate too. Prices are high right now though.

If anyone is looking for an ak or ar Hafer's in downsville had a couple earlier today.

maddogthegreatest January 19th, 2013 05:14 PM

Of course, In my opinion, the Ruskie friends make best AKs.:D

But, what do I know...
Our God Ole Governor Komally will soon take all those away from all law abiding Marylanders...:sad20:

USN24 January 19th, 2013 05:14 PM

Hafer's had an arsenal in there today

don't get a wasr 10, it can't hold a group on a 4x8 sheet of plywood at 100 yds.

rob-cubed January 19th, 2013 05:23 PM

Pre-ban and *good* postban conversions on AKs that started out in foreign arsenals are best.

RUOMO10 January 19th, 2013 05:50 PM

VEPR. A little heavy but worth it.

GRAY GHOST January 19th, 2013 06:11 PM

the one with the piston:D

They all suck and are sloppy....but that makes them a great ammo HOG! I have fired alot of different brands. and I agree with the first couple posts...if you can find them its a good one. I have never had a problem w/ a WASR heard stories. But heard stories about them all.

Dan44 January 19th, 2013 06:35 PM

The best that I've had was a Hungarian. Well built and nice finish.

5.56blaster January 19th, 2013 06:40 PM

Its an AK not an M1A. They were made by the commies. They make a very distinct sound when fired at you.

USN24 January 19th, 2013 07:23 PM

I hope I never get the chance to hear that distinct sound being fired at me

fivepointstar January 19th, 2013 07:33 PM

I prefer Imports vs kits built in the US but thats just me.

Arsenal (Ishevsk and Bulgarians)
Maadi
Norinco
AMD

bunch of US build kits
Century
IO (stay away from these)

jimv8eatr January 19th, 2013 08:39 PM

The best thing about an AK is that it just keeps firing, so... you are gonna have to clean it once a year whether it needs it or not! :D
