Great example. My Krags are some of my favorites in my collection. I said I just needed to add one, and "there may be more" pretty quickly turned into "there are more".
Thanks for the offer Augie, I will keep it in mind as I try and get this back to full working order. I think my first step will be some range time to see if it will extract at all without the missing pieces.
Apparently my gun isn't entirely functional. I shared this on the Krag Collectors forum and it seems to be missing parts for the auxiliary extractor. The two holes above the bore were for that and I am missing some pieces from it, not sure yet how the replacement process will be, probably hard...
Thanks guys, after I found my 1892 last summer I said I didn't think I would ever do better, but this one might be.
@Machodoc Yeah, it doesn't really fit the category, but I have seen it referred to that way by other collectors and publications, not sure where it got started.
@Mawkie I was...
Presumably yes, I haven't tried to cycle any rounds through it, but I don't see how it would work. Although the loading gate still has the spring and follower of a normal Krag.
Hey, its been awhile since I have posted, but I thought I finally had something worth sharing here. I won this a few months ago off GB. It is a Krag chambered in .22 LR. Often referred to as a gallery rifle, I think it was the Army's first small caliber training rifle. Originally some Krags had...
What is the price range on a Turkish 1893 Mauser still in 7.65x53. I have always wanted to add one to the collection, but I have no idea what they go for over their 8mm converted brethren.
You may want to try some original ones then,

Pricey, but I have had trouble like you described with newer ones. Not sure what the cause is.
Sounds like it came straight from the SGDS branch of the ATF aka Stuff Gun Dealers Say. They are just adding on rules that don't exist. There is no "100 year rule". Antique firearms are anything made pre-1898 so that could be 116 year rule I guess, but it has nothing to do with C&R licensees...
There is a seller with an M27 Carbine currently listed as well, I don't know enough to tell if its the real deal or not, but the bid price is at like 4,500.
You could have said pawn shop FL and I would have known that one, I bid once on a rifle that had a decent opening bid price and a reserve not knowing any better. I was the only bidder and I even added to my bid a couple times, didn't hit the reserve auction ended with no sale. Forgot about it...
On the link you sent, about 3/4s of the way down the page there is a female Russian soldier holding what looks to me to be a 1903 complete with us style sling.
