No no no no. I don't have any guns yet. I'll be getting some shortly, though now I have to figure in the cost of a safe, so I'll probably push everything back another month.
This sounds like an awesome idea. Just about all of my friends happen to be military, so not too many anti-gun types, but there are a few, I'm sure. Hell, I really need to get out more. I'm definitely on board with the idea, I think it's great!
I'm glad someone asked the question. I hadn't even thought of a dehumidifier. *sigh* Yet another unexpected cost to properly own, store and maintain my new shinies.
Thanks a ton for the info, Boom Boom.
On this note, I think I remember that the guns either have to have a trigger lock or be in a safe, period. Is that correct? I'm thinking about getting a gun cabinet, I just wanted to make sure it doesn't -have- to lock so long as I have trigger locks, correct?
That pistol box does seem like...
Like Z/28 said, you won't know for sure what you're going to like until you go to a range and shoot. I plan on doing that sooner than later (but I keep getting sidetracked), and once you've fired several rounds through several guns in at least the 9/.40/.45 calibres, you won't really have much...
I suppose "sure" would be up to defintion. I should research turning my unused garage into a pistol range...not very long, but it doesn't have to be to practice, I'd think. Just make the target smaller. Hmmmm...I bet insurance would make this not worthwhile, though.
Outstanding point, sir. I'm fortunate enough that my wife has given me free reign when it comes to survival gear/guns. Yes, free reign. Should I ever 'need' an awesome gun, I'll use that investment piece to defend, should I 'need' to.
Thanks!
Mine has taken forever!!! Oh, wait...what's this, sitting on my desk?
Heh, I should really send this thing in. I didn't know banks could notarize, I'll have to see if Navy Federal does that. Then I'll be armed and poor in no time...
Hopefully I'm not hijacking the thread, but what are the laws on shooting on your own property? I only own 1/4 acre, so I'm assuming I can't shoot on it, but I don't know the laws. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it.
I'm also guessing that, with them saying no questions asked, they're hoping some people would 'turn over a new leaf' and turn in their illegal gun and not worry about facing charges for owning it.
More Sailors around then I'd seen before. New to the area, so hello. I'll have to check out Collector's Corner sometime, once I've gotten off me lazy bum and submitted the C&R app. Everywhere I go, good info. Cheers!
^This. I'm new around here, and while not new with guns (military), I'm finally about to be a gun owner. I've been trying to do some research on ARs, but there's a lot to take in, and all too often, they expect the reader to know more than I do, so I'm still missing pieces. Your post is...
