      Hello from Big Sky Country

Welcome! I thought I was the only one, who said they where from South central MT! My high school mascot was a side profile of a sheepherder.

      SHOW US YOUR BLADES

Thanks for the youtube tip! Mostly Big Timber/McLeod area. Married a girl from Rockville, got her to move out, for a very cold winter, and back to MD, ever since. Still have family, out there.

      Place to shoot

When things calm down, ie reopen, I’d be happy to take you along, to IWLA Damacus, for a day. Just 100 yards, but hey...

      Refinishing Wood Stock Questions

220 for most wood stuff is a fine end point. I go higher, if I’m sanding cross grain, like a bowl, on a lathe, but anything else ends at 220, usually.

      SHOW US YOUR BLADES

RH Ruana First time posting, in the knife forum. This knife was given to me, by an old, “to me, anyway, I was 18” cowboy, in south central Montana. When an older hand ,figured a young hand, wasn’t quite useless, it was a bit of a tradition, to give him a bit of gear. Its been 34 years, and...

      Colorado Bear Country fishing....

Used to fish just outside the boundary of Yellowstone, on the north side. 12 gauge, unfortunately. Unless it’s a perfect shot, anything else will just piss off a grizzly.

      Need To Improve Accuracy

Also, instead the end of the deliberate sequence, of each shot, being "bang" make the end of the sequence re-acquiring the target.

      Private Property Shooting

Growing up in MT, we used to drive 1/4 mile out of town, and shoot on state land, pretty much anywhere. We had the undersheriff stop by, but only because he wanted to try out what we where shooting. Sigh, those where the days...

How much trouble did I cause myself

Pull and mark it down to experience. Not a load to fool around with.

      Squirrel Problem

You can borrow my dog. He just now got his third, in as many weeks. He's so proud.

      Dueling Tree

I would be interested. I am about to build one, and still engineering the over center deal. Did you use a positive stop, to keep the paddles from bouncing back?

Eldersburg Area - Honda brake job

It usually takes more time, to jack up the car, and get the wheel off, than to do the brake job. Wicked simple.

      Dillon RL550 (powder measure)

Every time I've had a problem with the 550 measurer, it's been a setup issue, i.e. Not a complete stroke, even with long, gnarly powders.

      My most used knife.

I have a few "fancy" knives, but the one I carry every day is a cheap Old Timer, I got from my great grandfather. Sharpened so many times, there's a hook in the blade.
