The kayak fishing posts have me jealous. Planned to try some kayaking this year to see if I want to spend money on one, then had shoulder surgery in June. Doc is letting me bank fish, but said no paddling still...
This is the one I'm getting to replace our gas push mower. Ryobi's 18v tools have impressed me. I get why they get some hate, but they hold up really well. Out of all their tools I've bought, I've only had issues with the 18v chainsaw. It sat in an unheated shed the first winter I had it and...
There should be a registration link on the county health department website (my mom signed my granddad up this weekend), but I think they are doing 75+ not 65+. Whichever it is, once registered you'll get emails with links to sign up for the actual shot. When I talked to her last night, she...
Heading out with the 350 legend I bought over the summer. Not thrilled about how warm it is supposed to be, but I've barely hunted since I got my dog 2 years ago so the itch is strong.
I selected 10+ and will say it is also less then 20. Two are specifically for self defense, one was a cheap collection add (mosin), and the rest have specific "jobs" for hunting various animals from distances of a few feet to about 300 yards. I'd have more, but I have non-firearms things I...
Haven't seen much moving in my field, but had a late fawn in the yard this morning. May have had just enough meat on it for an appetizer for today if I had had a bow handy.
We have an upright and a chest in an unfinished, non-temp controlled basement. The chest freezer stays a little colder, but the upright makes things easier to access.
This. I really like that tool box system. I've used a set of them for my tools for a few years (moderate use, not daily) and they have held up really well. I like them so much I'm setting up a second set for my leather working gear.
The weather guys seem to think slightly warmer then avg with around avg snowfall. I've noticed more wildlife foraging then normal the past 2 months and it has been 5 years since central md got a good snow storm so we are due.
Interesting. I didn't apply because the wording I saw made it seem like it was only for new hunters. I'll have to read more carefully next year.
Granddad used to hunt them in the 50s-70s. I've seen 1 in 38 years.
Then it is something weird with the system and your area. I have personal and work cells on different carriers. Both got the original and neither got a repeat. No family members or friends got the repeat either.
Mixed feelings. It definitely was inconvienent for most people (I ignored it and went back to sleep until my alarm went off at 5) and I am really curious why it took over 5 hours to issue the alert. On the other hand, as the victim of a custody kidnapping when I was the same age I'm glad these...
Finding private land this time of year is going to be difficult. Most is friends and family only or no hunting at all. If you hunt archery there is plenty of public land that doesn't get a lot of pressure early in the season. If you spend time with google maps you could probably find some out...
