Smith and Wesson Model 10-8 (heavy barrel) .38 special
Bought this in a pawn shop 7 or 8 years ago already cerakoted. I planned to get some custom wood grips with the Golden Arches and make a McDonalds themed revolver. Never panned out.
Located in Bethesda. Will trade +/- cash for a...
Marlin model 39a .22lr. Google says serial number dates to 1953.
Williams FP-39 rear sight with target knobs: https://shop.williamsgunsight.com/ecommerce/p/fpmarlin-39a-001254
Globe front sight. Unsure if this is Williams or Lyman. It’s a dovetail attached globe sight.

The tactical solutions owyhee looks like it could be perfect. Not much information out there on them. Anyone seen an owyhee in real life? Concerned about accuracy, trigger pull and the action itself.
Barrel does not seem to be interchangeable with the 10/22 takedown.
I love the idea of these and the fact that they sell barreled actions. The weight is kind of a killer though. Could SBR a steel barrel, but I’m hoping bergara releases the pistol version they teased at shotshow.
The Bergara BMR was also recently released and has an action that is 2” shorter...
I’m mostly satisfied with the SB brace but cutting bulk anywhere would be good. I agree it’s not worth a form 1 unless you can use the actual purpose made stock.
I looked into doing this for my APC9. Only way possible with factory options I can see would be multiple adapters and an extended length buffer tube.
Does not seem worth it over a pistol. How do you like the telescoping brace? I guess not enough to keep it a pistol.
As far as I know EOtech is the only true holographic sight. I don’t have astigmatism but my friends with bad eyes don’t like my Holosun as much as I do.
Want to trade an APC9 Glock Lower for a Sig Lower. Would also trade many Glock mags for your Sig mags.
Standard black finish Glock lower for APC9. The lowers are not firearms for the APC9.
Willing to sell lower outright for $380. Buy some mags too and I’ll cut you a better deal...
Does your octane sound any louder than a .22lr can? Thinking about getting 3 lug adapters to use my octane on my .22 rifle but don’t want to waste money just to realize they are loud/ suffer POI shift.
Silencershop kiosk is quick and easy to fill out forms. You can do prints on one too. United Gunshop in Rockville has one. Hardest part is the wait. Also know you’d be buying sight unseen.
I got a dead air mask. Seems to be the most recommended .22lr option. I have no complaints but little...
Respectfully, I disagree.
A .38 is underpowered compared to a modern 9mm defensive loading. Speer gold dot .38 special +P comes in at 222 foot pounds of energy. The same loading for 9mm +P is 410 foot pounds.
There is nothing wild or uncivilized about having 18 rounds on tap. Maybe you...
Gonna get some blowback for this post, but I’ll say it. Revolvers are obsolete in the year 2021. No advantage other than maybe the ability to use underpowered loads if you are an inexperienced shooter.
Cost advantage of gun and ammo also goes to the modern 9mm polymer framed double stack...
Really easy to build these. Just need to come up with the grip and muzzle device.
Blackwood trading makes a c96 look alike grip for ar15. Decent amount of cone flash hiders out there.
Here is a dedicated .22lr build I put together before adding a barrel nut.
Smith and Wesson Model 10-8. This is the 4” heavy barrel version.
Distastefully cerakoted. Functionally fine. Bought around 7 years ago during the same time a lot of Hong Kong police trade ins were coming into the country. Unsure where this one came from.
Located in Montgomery County...
Complete Ar15 Lower. This has no buffer tube. A pic rail adapter sits in where the buffer tube goes. I built this for a cmmg .22lr dedicated upper I no longer own, but this set up will also work with the BRN-180, MCX/ rattler or any other upper that functions without a buffer tube.
Parts...
Maybe just an existing ACR or zhukov stock with a 3D printed back end with many more positions printed for Picatinny mounted stocks.
Seems doable. Just no one mass producing for this narrow market base.
Anyone have experience or knowledge of how short a .22lr barrel can be and maintain a high degree of accuracy? Ideally I’d like to build a gun around a 4.5-7” barrel. Trying to narrow down exactly what length to make a small accurate SBR before I start.
Granted it’s a narrow market but no...
