Recently placed an order for the new SWFA 1-4x24 with the Mil-Quad DM reticle. It's currently on backorder and it looks like new orders won't ship until the end of April. Looking forward to trying this out on my Ruger GSR .308.
I'd invest in a quality set of BUIS and a torch from a reputable manufacturer (Surefire, Inforce, etc.) Never was a fan of that stock. Looks like a snag hazard nightmare if you intend to ever use it in real world applications. Otherwise I think it's nice looking set-up. Nice work on your...
I purchased a Ruger American Compact in .308 late last year. It wore a Redfield Revenge Accu-Ranger. Sold the whole rig and put the money toward a Ruger GSR that now wears a Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 Accu-Range. Although a bit pricier package, I prefer this set-up. All in all, Ruger...
The CRD works as advertised. By now I'm sure you know that Griffin Armament (Blast Shield) and Gemtech (Blast Jacket) have also recently introduced competing blast/concussion reduction systems to the market. The naked brake of the Ferfrans CRD performs just as well as any brake of similar...
Agreed. More versatile and can be just as quick as an RDS/HWS with training. Etched reticle is effective without relying on battery powered illumination. Regardless of choice, a good set of BUIS is critical for a fighting carbine.

The best stocks I've used are the Crane SOPMODs (LMT or B5) and the Magpul STR. In my opinion these are the best designed and most comfortable for a fighting carbine.

UBR is a heavy stock. I love the look and function, a very nice stock that worked well for me. But for a RECCE I'd probably opt for the ACS.

I had my friend and FFL holder order me the American Compact in .308, which is considered a xmas gift from the wife. Had I known this all-weather stainless version was in the works I'd have waited for it. I'm going to shoot the one I have for now and will most likely keep it, but I'll be damned...
Very nice. Post pics of the kind of groups you're getting.

I prefer the Crane SOPMOD design myself, especially for MK18/MK18ish SBRs. Sold/Traded my STRs in favor of LMT and B5 SOPMODs.

The EXPS is GTG. It's rare to hear much bad about the EXPS series. Highly recommended, and arguably the best Eotech HWS out there right now.

For a budget micro I'd opt for the PA. Owned two as stop gap solutions. Neither failed. Only sold when the budget allowed for better optics. Never liked the Sparc due to the crazy looking bulky controls on the side.

Thanks. Snagged a can for that price. Shipping was $15 bucks. I paid over $200 for these at my LGS not too long ago. Not my preferred ammo, but can't be too picky these days. Keep stocking up on ammo whenever you can. The shit stirring in the pot is getting thick, and when it hits the fan...
KAC SR15E3 IWS MOD 1. Arguably the best factory built fighting carbine out there. 16" lightweight profile barrel, durable, ambidextrous, modular, excellent 2 stage trigger, intermediate length gas system and an E3 bolt that will most likely outlive your great grandkids. Add a good FH of the 3...
