I live on MoCO and as long as you are in the little slivers of land considered "outside of urban areas", you can discharge certain weapons in certain scenarios.
Sec. 57-5. Discharge of guns outside the urban area.

So I went to my Adams Co appt. It took less than 5 minutes. I walked in, gave them my name, sat down for a picture, watched it get laminated and back out the door. Don't ask me about parking in Gettysburg on a Friday with 1000 Harley Davidsons in town. :-)
You really have to admire their...
Got approved in less than one day. I need to pick it up in person and their appointment book is full for two weeks. Then I am on Vacation, so my pickup will be after the 4th of July. Not their fault, just scheduling conflicts.
I just applied to Adams Co. Easily done online. Paid $25 online. Added pics of Drivers License and unrestricted MD permit. I'll report back as things progress.
I've lived in Burtonsville for 25 yrs. I use to stop and help them cross my long driveway about 30 times a summer. Now it is rare to do it more than a few times. My unscientific method says there is a problem.
Yup- You need a compressor. :)
FWIW- every time I get my tank filled they check the expiration date. Apparently it is a big no no to fill an expired tank.
I am in Burtonsville, So The north side of Baltimore is a bit of a haul. I can fill in Columbia to 3500 if I ask nicely. The is another dive shop in Silver Spring that i might have to check out.
My .02 worth
The .25 caliber or lower applies to areas outside of Montgomery County's Urban Area (This includes the AG preserve). If you are in the Urban zone, I don't recommend shooting unless you are inside (or very quiet). AN exception is if you have an approved Range (by the Firearm...
Has anyone set up and chrono'ed a power tune on their Avenger? I don't own a chrono yet but..
on a whim I bought a dueling tree for a .22 powder rifle. Just for kicks I popped a few slugs at it with my Avenger. With a (ProTune) I copied from a video (1800psi, 2.75 turns, 25.31 gr pellet...
Consider getting the tank 1st (assuming you don't have one). If you only shoot occasionally you may find you don't mind a trip or two to a dive shop every month for a refill. If you need to fill the tank more than that, then a compressor is in your future.
On a side note: Does anyone know of...

Electrostatic painting is designed to work in place with no over spray. It's great in volume commercial applications, but the good equipment (Ransburg) is quirky and expensive. This causes most electrostatic companies to have a high minimum charge. ($750).
A soft sprayer(HVLP) with decent...
I've been looking for a property in the same areas for the last 1.5 yrs. I prefer 5+ acres, a house I can rehab (instead of the lipstick on a pig houses that pass for a rehab these days), or raw land. There is not much out there where your neighbors are not on top of you. I see Land that is in...
If you are going to practice at an indoor range, it's worth asking if they have any ammo for sale just for their range. A good place to look online is ammoseek.com. It shows many places that have ammo.
And welcome to MD Shooters. I have learned a lot from lurking on this site. It is a great...
