The flat pointed lead bullets they talk about are the "Keith" style bullets with a wide sharp leading edge. My experience hunting groundhogs with LSWC out of a 44 and 45 is not good. Unless a head shot they would just run back in the hole. It just ice picked them. Reading up on it a hard cast...
Like everything that has been said. Throwing heavier lures a casting rod it the way to go. The control you have riding your thumb on the spool is unmatched. It comes with a price of the backlash. A birds nest of unparalleled tangle that is unforgiving on the water. A spinning rod is more...
I got Mrs Eightshot627 a BCA left hand dual charger upper but even if you buy a complete upper you will want to disassemble and reassemble to very torque. https://www.mdshooters.com/showpost.php?p=5378647&postcount=4
Both so far had zero issues and are accurate. Not bad for sub $500 for the pair.
As the owner of 5 Stoegers if you don't like to tinker take a look at the Franchi. They are smoother than the Stoeger and have the recoil spring up front like the Stoeger which makes it easier to clean if you drop it in the drink. That said, the last 2 Stoegers an M3500 and my son's M3020 have...
I have a Burris 2x7 on a 22lr Contender and one on a 460S&W revolver. I also have a 3x9 on a 308 Encore pistol but they are no longer made.
They hold up and have great field of view for pistol scopes but are a little on the heavier side. But the FOV and strength more then make up for the...
I put a Burris Fast Fire 2 on my turkey gun 4 years ago. 1 at 40yds, 1 at 20yds, 1 at 50yds. I had run out of adjustment on the fiber optic rifle type sights and the red dot seemed the best option. The super tight patterns of the new turkey loads really shines with the dot.
"New Pre 64" Model 70 Stainless Synthetic. Like my 460 S&W every time I take it out nothing shows up. Even though we have a couple of 300 Mag and a 338 Win mag dad wanted a 375 H&H.
I have a FF2 on my 3.5in turkey gun. It hasn't given me any trouble in 5 years. Killed a bunch of turkeys and it kicks on both ends. I put a FF3 on Mrs. Eightshot627's AR and she has fun dumping mags LOL
Guess I just got lo lucky. Can't believe I called him away from a hen on the other side of a property line fence row. 22lbs 10.5 beard, 1in spurs. The lack of snow this year must have been easy on the beard
I have one of these. It is NOT light but built like a tank.

At 265 you're a light weight compared to me and I'm not worried about breaking this one. But it is NOT light.
For hiking in and hunting where you need to stand...
I used to run a 122-125gr lrn and 2.8gr Clay's in a .38spl case for my steel challenge load. Any lower and the first shot from a draw was lighter due to the powder being forward. 2.8 was light without issue. Just about as clean as lead can be.
I have a 100 year old Remington Model 12A that the bore is badly corroded. My grandfather bought it cheap from a shooting gallery that was going out of business. I tried to make it better by cleaning but it is about 2-3 inch groups at 25yds.
If you had one relined, how much did it cost and...
Know your bullet drop, get a range finder, PRACTICE. Then in the spring head over to the same fields and shoot some ground hogs. Shoot from the same stands as you deer hunt from using the same rig. If you can take a ground hog at range the vitals of a deer will be huge and you will have the...
1) At what age were you introduced to guns?
-Shooting BB gun at age 4, supervised
2) Were you allowed to play with toy guns (pop guns, Super-soakers, Nerf guns, etc.)?
-Super-soakers, Nerf guns, cool fun. Toy guns were OK as long as they didn’t look like any sort of real gun. If it looked...
