      Gun rights BBQ

I'm in. Every time I was in Annapolis, he was there fighting against sb281/hb294. He's a no bs guy who'll tell you what you don't want to hear. Straight shooter, no bs. I'm definitely in. I ain't about to let this slide without a fight. I'm f&$)(;ing fed up with being MoM's ATM, for his...

HB 1277 - Sales and Use Tax - Ammunition - Developmental Disabilities Funding - 50%

Sorry posted earlier on the meeting but can't find the posts. Not vert many people in support of the bill. The $$$$ delegate wants to go to people with devolopmental needs. Everyone recog nizes the needs but funding should be mainstream, not piggybacked from ammunition sales.

      Bullet TAX

Confusing testimony on mental health being given.... I think Delegate Cardin means for the tax money be used to screen people in the background check process, but it's not clear. More testimony on people with developmental disabilities so it's confusing, is the bill is just a way to give $$$$$...

      Bullet TAX

Delegate Dwyer is posing questions and has made his point the tax doesn't really have much to do with mental health... We are told the tax doesn't apply to non-regulated firearms... I must have an old bill... There seem to be friends in this committee... Some ask what's to prevent any from...

      Low turnout today

I'm not sure 75 people showed up despite the Federal Government having been closed at 6:00AM... I understand perfectly the western areas were being hit hard, especially by mid-morning. I understand that schools were closed and that made going to Annapolis difficult, but I thought maybe ...

      March 6 Hearings

Not too many people here today.... We are hearing SB... 445 533 540 544 646 660 688 786 It's 5:58 and bills are still being introduced.

      March 5th Rally in Annapolis

Was there on the 6th. Was there on the 1st. Will be there tomorrow! I too learned a great deal on the 1st. Most important, is do not write off any districts that are predominantly anti-gun. These are the battleground areas that are vulnerable and NOT that an area will suddenly change...

Does anyone know the official # who signed Feb 6th?

I was in Aannapolis on Feb 6th... Does anyone know just how many signed up to testify and how many we're for and against?

Holding the Line in Annapolis: Round 2

I was there on Feb 6th, standing in line at the Miller building for 5+ hours. It was hot and stuffy and we were crammed on that second floor for hours. My feet were killing me. I took off my top coat and suit jacket crumpling it under my arm. I kept taking my messenger bag off my shoulder...

SB 281 - What can we really do?

Goateggs - very, very well said.

SB 281 - What can we really do?

I hope you've received your reply... It is my understanding that under the bills you would need to re-register your firearm or face a $5,000 fine and/or 3 years in jail. After being found non-compliant your firearm could be confiscated and disposed of however the MD state police wish...

Freedom Is Not Free (MSI Update)

Not a member, sent $ anyway I'm in too. Just logged of the donation page. I too am eager to hear what the plans are for March 1st. I didn't get to testify on Feb 6th. I waited in line 5+ hours with hundreds of other peaceful 'protesters' to sign up in the Miller building. It was awfully...

      Straw Purchases

More solutions!!!! WE can all agree that without facts on crimes, it's tough to develop legislation to reduce or eliminate that crime. I'm brand new to this fight, having only stumbled on the legislation nearly two weeks ago, by going into a gun shop to look for ammo!!!!! What does that...

      Straw Purchases

My brainstorm ideas ... A. believe folks are on the right track in trying to find solutions to gun violence, as opposed to claiming 'the second' (amendment) in this fight. B. I have no data one way or another if straw purchases creates or contributes to crime. (I suspect it does). Rather...

      Thank you

Thanks! Delegate Dwyer I had the pleasure of meeting you on Monday evening at my County's open house (Howard County). Although I'm not in your district, I wanted to thank you for your tireless support. Wednesday was my first trip to Annapolis to give testimony. You were working like a man...

Official February 6th day of event thread.

1st time Annapolis attendee at Wednesday's event ... I found out about the rally (and then the bills) 1 1/2 weeks ago, quite by chance. I just happened to swing by a local gun shop hoping to find some ammo and there on the counter was a flyer for a rally on the 8th... I did some quick...

geez there's that communication thing ... I sure wish I would have known about this say, Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday ... Even my State Delegates, whom I visited on Monday evening, didn't tell me about this ...
